Looking for information on my father Thomas Hargen (or Hagen) Bloomfield, whose parents were supposedly Samuel Bloomfield from England and Elizabeth McLaughlin from Ireland. Could have been born in Missouri in 1896, 1898 or 1900. No Census information except for 1940 showing Thomas with my mother Amy as being married & living in Jacksonville, FL. No information on any siblings. Can't find birth certificate. Any knowledge re: the above names would be greatly appreciated.

William Bloomfield of Essex and/or Suffolk ca 1745

Can anyone help me with the birth of my 4xgreat grandfather,William Bloomfield and siblings (possibly) John and Mary? All three married in Great Clacton, Essex in 1767, 1766 and 1765 respectively but I can find no trace of their births in any of the surrounding 34 parishes nor in Colchester. It has been suggested to me that they may be sojourners from somewhere in Suffolk.

Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated.
Does anyone know about the above Bloomfields. Seemed to live mostly in Croydon, South London. Edward John was father of John Arthur who was the father of Barrie and sister Betty. Barrie was born with the name Biraben Ellis on his birth certificate in 1925 - took on his mothers name until Barrie was married in 1962, then reverted back to Bloomfield. When John Arthur married in 1930, was living at 96 Sutherland Road, Croydon. The family also lived in Caterham for a time. Barrie's mother or g/mother was a famous dressmaker in London. Any clues from across the pond are welcomed. Have not researched yet, wanted to see if I could strike it lucky!
Thanks for reading.
From Barrie's youngest son, Mark Bloomfield

James Myers Bloomfield and two wives

I am trying to figure out a strange situation. A James Myers Bloomfield, who was born in England in 1862, first married Martha Studley Oliver in 1882, but divorsed her- I don't know when, except tht the first hearing was in 1891.
His second wife was Ann Elizabeth Lawtey, born in Ohio.

Out of these two marriages are four children, one being married to a brother of my grandfather Carl Vollmer, named Phillip (Dorothy- the fouth child)

On the 1900 census in Vermont, James is listed with his second wife and three of the children, Marion Louise, Helen Lawtey, and James Jr, but the census indicate differnt mothers for these children.

I just read that James was murdered, but I don't know where and when. Apparently all of the children, except James, were adopted, and I have the names of the adoptees. But I cannot find the info on what happened to the wife Ann Elizabeth, and when James was murdered. On the 1850 census he is 8 years old and living in the home of Widow Charles Braud and his name is listed as Clement Braud. Next door is Widow Blondfield(Bloomfield) (nee Elise Braud(Breaux)) and her two daughters. In the church marriage records he lists his mother as Elise Braud-no father listed. According to church records, Elise was married to Antoine Boomfield (native of Ireland) on 10/24/1830 in Assumption Parish, LA. They had 2 daughters born 1/1832 and 3/1833. Antoine died 5/8/1833. Therefore he could not be the father of Clement-so who is? Any info would be appreciated. FYI Marie Elizabeth Bloomfield (oldest daughter of Eise and Antoine) was my ggg-grandmother.

Information about Benjamin Bloomfield

Benjamin Bloomfield made three journeys to USA, the first in 1897 to Pittsburg, Kansas, to visit his uncle, Thomas Jones. He appears in the 1900 census as a boarder, working as a silver miner in Pitkin, Colorado. He made a second voyage to Pittsburg in 1903. His last voyage was in 1905 when he travelled with his wife, Mrs. Ben Bloomfield. According to the Oceanic's manifesto they were going "home" to Pittsburg, Kansas. Can anyone help me to locate his marriage which must have taken place in the States and also to trace his death?

I am searching for information on George W Bloomfield who was married to Sarah Jane Sims (Simms) around 1861. They had a child, James, about 1863. I found one in Madison, Texas in 1860 on census. He is in the Home of Caroline Clarke. My Sarah Jane also had a marriage to Joe Clark (Clarke) after Bloomfield. I am trying to find out facts, like what happened to G Bloomfield, what happened to James, their child. Was G Bloomfield a relative of Clarkes. Was Caroline Clarke his mother?

William Blumfield of Hartford & Middletown, Conn.

Descendants of William Blumfield of Middletown Conn.:

Descendants of William Blumfield and other early settlers of Middletown, Conn. will be pleased to know that the Society of Middletown (Conn.) First Settlers new content-rich web site is now online in its entirety. For an introductory period the entire site will be accessible to all. Eventually access to the Member Area will be restricted by password, as our board felt that the member area content would provide incentive for membership, along with our newsletter, The Middler. But in any case, even in the public area there will always be plenty of useful information for Middletown genealogy and local history enthusiasts.

The site features biographical sketches of William Blumfield and the other first settlers, local history essays, a directory of research destinations, a comprehensive bibliography, an archive of past newsletters, links to relevant books online, membership information, and much more.

You can find the site via Google: "Middletown First Settlers". (Some old dead links from our old web site may show up, but they will fade away in the near future.) Or you can bookmark this link:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctsmfsd/Index.html

Feel free to pass on information about the site --- or the SMFSD --- to interested researchers.

R.W. Bloomfield, daugher of the late Robert Bloomfield, was married to Mr. Lloyd Manuel, a clerk at the post office, at the First Baptist Church pasonage Monday evening, Rev. John A. Jones, the pastor, officiating. On account of the recent death of the bride's father, the wedding was a quiet one, with no attendants for either bride or groom.

Mrs. Manuel has been for eight years assistant to Miss Tilley, Librarian of the Newport Historical Society, and will continue in that position. The groom is also well known throughout the city, having been one of the first amateur wireless operators in Newport and for several years a clerk at the post office.

Nancy Bloomfield daughter of Lewis 1700's

Wondering if anyone has a clue where I should look to find the birthplace of my ancestor Nancy Bloomfield, daughter of Lewis Bloomfield. She married Calvin Frisbee (born 1775 in New York) and they lived in Erie County, PA after 1800. Her children were Lewis, Grixson, Eliza, Lucy, Nancy, Lydia, Morris, Thomas W. and Emeline Frisbee. Everyplace I've looked I come up with nothing. The Frisbee ancestry book said Nancy was able to trace her ancestry to the Mayflower. I need to know where to look for Lewis Bloomfield's family! Any relatives out there?

Jennetta Bloomfield Kirkendall

I'm looking for any information on a Jenetta (Jennety/Nettie) Bloomfield. Her parents were Alfred S Bloomfield and Amanda Staggs Bloomfield. Her first marriage was to Leander Cooley on 14 Oct 1899 in Lewis County, KY. The marriage license is for Leander Cooley and Jennety Bloomfield. Her last marriage was to A.D. Sparks on 3 May 1932 in Lewis County, KY. The marriage license is for A.D. Sparks and Nettie Kirkendall. This tells me that she was married to a Kirkendall sometime after 1925 (when her last child by Leander was born) and 1932 (when she married A.D. Sparks). I can't seem to find any information on her second marriage. Her second husband may have died since she is listed as a widow on her marriage license to A.D. Sparks. If someone could provide me with any information on this other marriage I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

I seek information on Sarah Bloomfield, Burlington, NJ area, married Omar Boden and later moved to Cooperstown, NY. Sarah Bloomfield was born 1774, baptized March 1774 in (old) St. Mary's church in Burlington, NJ, died 1858 in Cooperstown, NY.

Her parents were Jeremiah (b. c.1740) and Elizabeth (b. c. 1753, maiden name probably Elizabeth Cowan) Bloomfield, per copy of Sarah's batismal certificate.

The prominent Joseph Bloomfield (b. 1753; a Governor of NJ and military officer, among other credits) had the same last name, also lived in Burlington, NJ, and went to the same church, but I have not established that Joseph and Sarah were related in any way, 'tho I suspect they may have been cousins or similar.

More Bloomfield info

I was thrilled to find this message board. I am from the Isle of Wight in England but now live in Virginia. I have a family tree of the Bloomfields going back to Richard de Blonville who was the subtenant to hubert de Monte Caniso, near Blonville, Normandy in 1086. from whom were descended the following, Robert de Blondeville (or Blmeville) living in 1190 in Newton Flotman, Norwich, England, Sir William de Blomvyle, the Constable of Corfe Caste and thomas de Blumville, the Bishop of Norwich in 1226, formerly constable of the Tower of London (1224) and nephew of Hugh de Burgh. I am sure the families of de Blomvyle, Blondeville, Blunderfield, Blomfield and Bloomfield were all descended from these people. Many Bloomfields immgrated to America before the revolution and some were in Ireland, so there are many branches. If you'd like more specific info please e-mail me.

I am trying to find information on my grandfather Claude Bloomfield. He was married to Mae Rose Brown Hite and had four children: James, Vernon, Betty and Doris. He left the family in 1929. Because my dad was only five years old when his father left, I do not have a place or time of birth, although my dad mentioned relatives in Lewis County, Kentucky.

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me out.

My great Uncle, Benjamin (Bennie) Victor, son of Edward Victor and Ruth Platts, was born in 1908, Carterville, Jasper Co., MO.
Bennie married IVA L. BLOOMFIELD on 21 Feb 1926 in Picher, Ottawa Co., OK.
Iva is the daughter of JACKSON C. BLOOMFIELD and RETTA Unknown.
The 1920 Federal Census, shows Iva with her parents at the age of 12 in Quapaw Twnsp Ottawa Co., OK.
JACKSON (according to the census) was born in INDIANA abt 1856. His wife RETTA was orn abt 1870 in IOWA.
By the 1930 Census, Retta was a widow still residing in Quapaw Twnsp.
IVA and BENNIE are residing in Picher, Ottawa Co., OK at this time.
Bennie and Iva had three girls as of the 1930 census, Janine, June and Evelyn.

Does any of this sound familiar to any one. Does any one know what happened to this family?
I have not been able to locate info on Bennie. He had two brothers who passed in the 1930's and Bennie is not mentioned in any of the obits.
