Richard Wycliffe "Wick" Blose
Loving Dad & Grandpa Richard Wycliffe Blose, 84, of Harborcreek, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Wilgus, Pa. on November 8, 1925, son of the late Richard L. Blose & Molly A. Trimble Blose. He retired from Lord Corporation as a Supervisor in 1987 after 28 years of service. Wick was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and St. James RC Church, where he was very active. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, of 58 years of marriage. He is survived by four sons, Rick Blose and his wife, Sandy, of Albuquerque, N.M., Tom Blose and his wife, Mary, of Harborcreek, Bob Blose and his wife, Jeannette, of Millcreek, and Jeff Blose and his wife, Elizabeth, of Wichita, Kan; and a daughter, Tamie Lander, and her husband, Joe, of North East. He was the proud grandpa of 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the G. R. Bailey Funeral Home, 4396 Iroquois Ave., Lawrence Park, on Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Saturday morning at St. James RC Church at 10 a.m. A private interment will follow at St. Gregory Cemetery in North East. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. James Parish Maintenance Fund, 2635 Buffalo Rd., Erie, PA 16510, or to the Erie VAMC, 135 E. 38th St., Erie, PA 16504 (Attn: DAV Chapter 73).
