Jim,
There is no question that (Johan) Conrad 1718 (Actually looking at the records again I realized he was baptized 5 Jan 1718, So he was likely born in 1717) 'could' have been in the war as many think. Conrad came to the country in 1742 with very little, but was able to aquire several hundred acres of land and the became first constable of Heidelberg in 1752. So he was certainly a very capable person. I am just trying to find actual evidence that would prove if he was in the war. So many of the works I read are full of errors, that It's hard to tell what is right unless you find sources to prove it.
About his wife - that is one area I believe the Langenselbold records can clarify. Her name was Anna Magdelena REBER, daughter of Hans Bernhard Reber she was baptized 3 June 1720 and married Conrad - 30 Nov 1740. There first child was Anna Margaretha bp 12 Nov 1741.
What's you line? I'm through Conrad II and III (Luzerne County PA)
Keith
