According to "William Bloyd-Bloyed of Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Green County, Kentucky, and His Descendants, PRESTON Y. BLOYD was born in 1817 in Tennessee.

His parents were TOBIAS "TUBBY" BLOYD (son of WILLIAM BLOYD and BARSHEBA LORD) born March 27, 1784 in Maryland, and NANCY AMELIA MCMURTRY, born in 1775 and died before 1848. We do not know who her parents were. Nancy married 1) William Goldsby February 2, 1801 and 2) TOBIAS BLOYD May 27, 1805 in Green County Kentucky.

TOBIAS BLOYD died October 11, 1861. He is buried in Boyd [sic; NOT Bloyd] Cemetery, Spencer County, Indiana.

Tubby and Nancy had the following children:

1. LAPINA BLOYD m. HIRAM CORN January 12, 1826 in Warrick County, IN.
2. ELIZABETH M. BLOYD m. ISAAC M. HUDSON ('of" North Carolina) March 11, 1830.
3. NANCY BLOYD (Sept. 19, 1815, TN) m. DAVID MILLER ('of" Viriginia)NOv 18, 1833. She died January 1, 1864; he died Nov 30, 1860
4. PRESTON Y BLOYD [vitals as mentioned above]
5. IBBY ANN BLOYD b March 11, 1821 m FORD WILKERSON. Ibby Ann d. Feb 20, 1878 and is buried Richerson Cemetery, Spencer County, Indiana.
