I am descended from Jacob Bluebaugh, through his daughter Mary Bluebaugh. Mary's mother & Jacob's wife is Esther (hester) Zion, sister of John Zion. Mary Bluebaugh married Thomas Flanary (now we spell it Flanery) in Lee County VA. Her son, Zion Flanery, is my direct ancestor. He married Lucinda Shepherd from Lee County, whose father, Levi Shepherd, was son of James P. Shepherd, Sr. of Lee County. I'm not sure where the Shepherds in Lee County started. Many accounts say N.C. I now have five different counties from which they hailed--Halifax, Wilkes, N>C.; Halifax/Fluvanna, Caroline/ Russell/Washington/& others in Virginia. My Shepherds are related to Sjhepherds of Sheperdstown VA (now W VA). They seem to be related to the Shepherds of Fluvanna County, VA as well. Abraham, William & James were often used, as well as Thomas but I think not as much. I am trying to find James P. Shepherd's pension application papers. I found a James Shepherd's application papers thru NARA in Fluvanna County--but not the same J. Shepherd I need: Also, Clerk of the Fluvanna County Court in 1836 Was Abraham Shepherd, Jr. I have more documents related to Shepherds from VA who were Reolutionary War veterans who are buried in VA. Houts' Revolutionary War veterans lists: James P., Albert, Abraham Jr. & WIlliam Shepherd in this list. Father was Abraham Shepherd. Any information whatseover would be appreciated. C.
