Nellie is pictured in the 1917 Daedalian, yearbook of the College of Industrial Arts, now Texas Womens University, in Denton, Texas. She a member of the senior class. I'm not kin but thought this might help others.

Catherine Blucher and Michael Rickel

I am looking for a connection between Catherine Blucher b. about 1767 in Wartenburg, Sachsen, Preussen d. 12 Jan 1852 and General Gebhard Blucher. My grandmother seemed to had made a connection that I can not find and I am unable to find the sources she used to make it. It is so hard to get information about her. I did have an e-mail from someone who had said that they had made the connection between the two and it was through the house of Poggelow, but I have not yet heard back from her.

As for Michael Rickel b. about 1763 in Wartenburg, Sachsen, Preussen d. 15 Apr 1837 in Wartenburg, Sachsen, Preussen. He married Catherine Blucher 2 Aug 1758 and they had two children that I know of Elizabeth and John Blucher Rickel who I have all information for!

In the 1800s there were at least three migrations to Australia by members of the Blucher family. These three separate migrations trace back to the following Bluchers.
SA Bluchers
Hans Christian Blucher, born 23-Dec-1770 in Zahrensdorf.
NZ & QLD Bluchers
Christian Frederick Wilhelm Blucher, born 1828, somewhere in Germany.
VIC Bluchers
Johann Joachim Diederich Blucher, born 12-Dec-1801 in Bresegard.
Is anyone able to shed any light on these three Bluchers?
Is anyone able to trace the these lineages back even further?

I would like to be able to connect these lineages to the main Blucher family tree. Any assistance provided will be greatly appreciated.

Gebhard Lebrecht von Blucher

I wouldn't hold my breath looking for a link from Joshua to Gebhard. You won't find one. That branch is long been studied and all descendants accounted for.

Funny thing is, there are far more people claiming descent from Gebhard today, than he actually has living descendants.

Three of his children died in infancy, one died aged 4, another aged 8. Two never produced any offspring and the remaining son that did, has a well documented lineage.

Looking for information on Joshua Blucher b Oct 22, 1823 Jefferson County, Indiana d. January 2, 1902 Oakgrove, Jackson County Missouri. Father Joshua Blucher Mother Mary Clark. Married Eliza Jane Arbuckle Sept 4 1845 Jefferson County Indiana.

According to his obit his grandfather was Field Marshel Blucher. and his mothers father was a General Clark that Clark County Indiana was granedted to for service in the Indian wars.

I am looking for information on the parents of Catherine Blucher b. about 1767 in Wartenburg, Sachsen, Preussen d. 12 Jan 1852 and Michael Rickel b. about 1763 in Wartenburg, Sachsen, Preussen. Catherine and Michael were married on 2 Aug 1758 in Somerset, PA.
I know of two children: Elizabeth Rickel b. 10 Jun 1785 in Bedford Co., PA d. Dec 9 1859. She married John Harbaugh on Dec 25 1805 and had eight children.
The second child is John Blucher Rickel b. 4 Oct 1784 in Lancaster, PA d. 31 Jan 1860. He married Margaret Rebecca Swaisgood and had one child that I know of named Michael Swaisgood Rickel b. 1 May 1811 in Bedford Co., PA d. 1 May 1881. Michael S. Rickel married Mary Catherine Harbaugh on 22 Dec 1833 in Henry Co., IL.

I'm looking for information on Antoinette Wilhelmine Blucher born in Hamburg 2/3-1778 and married in Mecklenburg 21/4-1795 to Johann August Friedrich Dencker.
They both went to Denmark in 1809 with their 7 children and stayed there till they died.
Both should descent from noble families in Germany, but I dont know their parents.
Her father, the unknown Blucher, was probably "Amtmann" in Hamburg. So im told.

I have been told by my father that our family is a direct relation to Gebhard Von Blucher. My father served in WW2 and was stationed at a Army Base in St. Louis. I was told that my father met a Blucher family identified as his great aunt in St. Louis at that time 1941. I was also told that they, the Bluchers were direct relation to Gen. Blucher. If you may know the names of the Bluchers in St. Louis and their decendants I would appreciate it. Thank you.

We are looking for information on the descendents of an Isablel/Isabella
Blucher, niece of Fieldmarshall von Blucher. She was born in Germany but
moved to the USA on her marriage to Sir William Humphries who owned a plantation
in Charleston. She is known to have had at least two children, Edward and Pelham,

I know this is gonna sound probably stupid but I had a dream about this gentelman awhile ago. I don't think I am related in any way to The Von Blucher family and there's no reason for me to make this up.In this dream I saw this gentelman wearing really old-fashioned leather boots( up to his knees) and he was sitting in this old looking chair and was telling me some sort of a story about the rifle??? i don't know he did tell me his name but i only remembered the last part "Von Blucher". Later I looked it up on the internet and here i am right now. Hello! I notice allot of different spellings of your surnames on this board. My ggggrandfather was James Blocher/Bloucher. He was born in IN abt 1823 and married Margaret Spiller in 1844 in Scott Co. IN. They lived in Scott Co. for awhile and by the 1860 IN census they had moved to Washington Co. IN where Margaret disappeared and James had a new wife, Mariah Weddle. James and Margaret's children were living with James and the new wife. James died and is buried in Washington Co. IN. On the marriage license and the census in Scott Co. IN the name is spelled Blocher and in Washington Co. IN the name is changed to Bloucher. I am looking for James' parents and siblings. Can anyone help me, please??? Thank you! Marcia
