I know this was posted a long time ago so you may have already found some of this information. William F Hildebrand born 1910 to John D Hildebrand and Esther O Chapman. They married in 1909. William was born 1910 and his sister born 1913. Sometime after that, they divorced and they each remarried...John in 1919 to Mary McVey and Esther in 1918 to Albert T Storch. In the 1920 Census, William is listed with his grandparents (Chapman)in Kansas.
I don't find any Bluejacket connection (I am a Bluejacket descendant). It seems William was born a Hildebrand and adopted as a Storch (his mother's 2nd husband). If you have any more information regarding the Bluejacket part of this, let me know. The two you mentioned, Charles David (son of David L Bluejacket and Eliza Silverheels) born 1891 and Blake Henry Bluejacket born 1909 (son of Edward S Bluejacket and Etta Manley) don't seem to be connected to your William Storch in any way.

Marsha

Hi, I wasn't sure how to contact you because I don't have a paid for account so what I can do is limited. I saw you saved a picture of my great-grandparents Andy and Beulah Earls, do you have any information on Beulah and her parents? I can't find any information any further back than Beulah. I just thought I'd ask. I apologize for contacting you this way but I'm a student and genealogy is my hobby so most of my money goes to that...

hmm, I am not related (although I do have family that lives in Bluejacket, OK) and just today, I was reading the DNA results of the Swearingen claim. My DH met Bobby BlueJacket yesterday and I was interested in reading up on Bluejacket." Your "Science has concluded there is no possible way these two families are related" is not true. The Swearingen DNA has proven that they are descendants of Blue Jacket's son George, but there is no evidence that Blue Jacket was Caucasian. Just thought you'd like to know.

Hi I found your 2000 post on ancestry aboout the Bluejacket Family Tree. Through the Piqua Shawnee Project you spoke of they got in contact with me last year asking for my SNOW DNA. Mr. Hinshaw wrote back stating I was over 99.9% descendant of Chief Bluejacket. I am also told his son George is the only one who had descendants. I would like to know whom I can contact for this tree. I do not know from whom I descend as my gg grandfather 1845, was born out of wedlock and did not know his parents. This would help tremendously!I also would like to join the tribe; however, I am not asking for monies. Thank you, Anita snowbaby9275@aol.com

In reply to your inquiry, I did not research the Allen surname, only Watson. I knew my grandfather married a native american and lived in Bluejacket, OK. After much research I found a marriage record on the OK Native American archives showing that Mary Bluejacket had married an Allen as her first husband. My grandfather's name was Bert Watson. I don't know of any children born to either husband. My grandfather was born in 1894. He didn't divorce my grandmother until 1928 or there around. You might be able to research the USGenweb, OK to find what I did. It's been a while. I have a paper record, but don't know where it is.

I read your message about the Allen husband... I am an Allen and we are trying to find a link between the Allen family and Bluejacket family. Several descendants of George and Henry Bluejacket tested their DNA and I was an exact match. So, we KNOW we are Blujackets but cannot find where the Allen came in. Could you tell me what time frame that Mary married an Allen? How many kids did they have??

It sure would be nice to have documentation as what her name was. I am not a Blue Jacket descendant, but have a great interest in his life as an Indian, and not a white man....as the story goes.....and it goes on and on and on. I see him as a great Native American!!!

My email is SRouse 1937@aol.com if you would like to email further.

Hi, I am doing some extensive research on Bluejacket, in order to present it at a couple Genealogy Society meetings here in the Wheeling WV area in the Spring. I am a Swearingen descendant, but actually do believe the Bluejacket/Swearingen story to be fiction, other than fact after what all I have read. But I would really like to be able to get a pedigree on the Bluejacket family if at all possible. I am very interested in the family, where they originated, and where they are at the present time. Could you or anyone help me with this? Also would love to get in communication with descendants of the family.

As of today, I am listowner for the Bluejacket name. Any that are interested in subscribing to this list, here is the address..

BLUEJACKET-L-request@rootsweb.com that contains the word Subscribe in the subject line and the body of the email.
and nothing else. If they prefer digest mode, they should send the command instead to BLUEJACKET-D-request@rootsweb.com. (this is for a general listing of messages.

To unsubscribe,
they should send the command "unsubscribe" to BLUEJACKET-L-request@rootsweb.com
(if in mail mode) or BLUEJACKET-D-request@rootsweb.com (if in digest mode.)
To switch from one mode to the other, they should unsubscribe from one
and then subscribe to the other. There is no "no mail" mode -- if they
want messages to stop, they should simply unsubscribe.

To post to both BLUEJACKET-L and BLUEJACKET-D, messages should be sent to
BLUEJACKET-L@rootsweb.com. Messages sent there will appear both places.

So, hope some may be interested.
I go along with Himshaw. I have traced back through the Reame line to the Honorable Jaques Baby Duperon to his son-in-lay Shawnee chief Bluejacket and his wife Claerwater Baby and down from there to the Leduc family. I have Reaume ancestry but not Bluejacket blood. The big problem is to trace Clearwater Baby. I have a feel for some of the descendents of Baby on Ontario, Canada, but have yet to solidify data on Clearwater.

If you want "the real story," I suggest you read "Banks of
the Wabash" (Rev 1996), provide me your question, or contact
G. Carlyle Hinshaw ( blujac@swbell.net ) who is a descendant
of Chief Blue Jacket. Chuck Bingham ( wcbingham@home.
com ) can also provide you the e-mail address of the Shawnee
web site which offers informative data. Despite "the story,"
the "fact" is Marmaduke Van Swearingen did not become
Chief Blue Jacket and kill his brother, Charles. That is just
"hog wash." If you are seeking "the real story," the above
will help you. If you prefer "smoke," just believe "the story."

Interesting you should say "the Swearingen family is upset
with the DNA findings" that refute "the story" that has been
circulating since Feb. 15, 1877. My DNA test effort was
initiated two years after my genealogical conclusions were
published in "Banks of the Wabash" (Rev. 1996). As you are
obviously aware, it was a Swearingen descendant who started
"the story" and some Native Americans found it to their
advantage to "believe" the tale. "Upset" as they may be, "the
*&%$#@ story" still circulates and the outside drama near
Xenia still portrays Blue Jacket as killing his brother, Charles.
This tarnishes the name of an officer killed in the service of our
country and is an abomination. Keep telling the truth! The
"upset" Swearingens will survive.

I haven't seen any of the Bluejackets for many years, and none of the names sound familiar, except Charles Bluejacket, which I saw on our family history tree. And, I do know one of my relatives was an Indian Cheif. He wasn't really Indian. He was kidnapped as a child and raised by them. Actually, he is the one I'm really interested in. Back in 1982, I think, we attended a big family reunion in Bluejacket, OK. I met a distant relative there, his last name was "Burrap" or something like that. He was from Utah. Anyway, he gave me a book about Cheif Bluejacket. But, my Uncle Bud(Husher) wanted to borrow it, and although I hated to, I couldn't say no. He passed away soon after, and I never got my book back! I only got to read the first page. I've been going nuts for years, trying to find another book. Just got a computer a few months ago, and the first thing I looked for was that book! If you happen to know what I'm talking about, and know how I can get another book, I would very much appreciate it. I dont even know the name of it. I need to get that man's name from my mom, and maybe find him on the internet somehow. Thanks for your time and info!

Although I'm not positive which book you are
referring to, I have a book about Chief
Bluejacket. Someone photocopied it years ago and sent it to me. I bet it's the same one. Unfortunately, since I've moved in the past year, it's packed away in some box and I have no idea where it is.

In brief:

Marmaduke Van Swearingen was a white man kidnapped by the Shawnee in the late 1700's.
He joined them and took the name Bluejacket,
because he was wearing a blue jacket when he was captured. He became one of their chiefs.

He had a son, Jim Bluejacket. Jim had a son,
Rev. Charles Bluejacket, founder of the town in OK. Charles had a son named Silas, who married Delilah Gullett. Delilah's brother
was Henry Gullett, whose son was Ralph Gullett, whose daughter was Irma (Gullett)
Murphy, whose son is Kevin Murphy (me).

Kevin
