Hi Delia,

Isadore (aka "Ed" Gerrick) was my grandfather. Ida, my great-grandmother. My mother, Isadore's daughter Marion tells me that the names you listed are her uncles and aunts. The Blumbergs are related to us. Ed married Gertrude Harris.

I am writing to you on your email account, as we may be related. :-)

Andrew Cohen

She was born in Buchwald, East Prussia in 1864 and died in Newburgh December 22, 1945. She had a sister Wilhelmina who migrated to California, three brothers, Herman, Amos & August.

Dear ingrid
The last 4 years i have tried to make atree for all the Blumbergs, Your message was interesting and I would love to hear more, I had avery big Blumberg branch since 3 of my greatgrandparents were born Blumberg. My Blumbergs lived in Libau and Riga but came from Lithuania I have been in contact with Blumberg researchers from all over the globe . I have lots of material that I try to puzzle together. I requested and recieved pictures from most of the researchers in order to find out if there are people know under different first names by descendents in different continents. Sofare I found several branches that lost contact with each other.
My research has no commercial goals and I am not going to publish anything.
If you are interested please contact me on the E-mail adress. all teh best from Pheya Yair
Hello
I would like contact with you, I have my grandfathers brother who came to America 1893-4 He wrote him self as Abraham M. Blumberg. He was 17 years old. He came from Latvia, he was born in Lithuania, around Telz . His father was named Joseph. (Could be Judel or a brother of Judel?) And the Mothers name was Sarah Blumberg, She was a cousin of her Husband. Her Fathers name was Sloime and the Mother was probably Mere.
He came together with another Abraham Blumberg and I know they had cousins alreaddy in America, My grandfather said to my Mother that one cousin was famous in Holywood?
I have been trying to make the tree for all the Blumbergs and have hundreds of
contacts to Blumbergs, from all over the globe and many many pictures from all the different descendents. I asked everyone for pictures since so many had exactly the same names
and it was impossible to understand who's who without exact birthdates. If you care to join in with your details and pictures I might be able to direct you to the right family! My work with this has no commersial interests and I'm will publish anything and I don't foreward your pictures or details to anyone else!
all the best from Pheya Yair, Israel
Re: Searching for Blumbergs of Latvia

Hello Robin
I'm a Blumberg descendent trying to find my roots. My Blumbergs came originaly from Lithuania around Telz.
But they moved to Libau. 1893 My grandfathers brother Abraham M Blumberg migrated to Amerika, he made the trip with an uncle( I guess )also named Abraham Blumberg. I know there was family in Riga. But I've not been able to find the names. The journals you are mensioning in your message sounds very interesting! I would love to read them! Please contact me to my Email adress. The last two years I've written several thousand Letters and E-mails to Blumberg descendents and I've been in contact with many researchers, but we have not been able to connect our families. Allthough we share the same first names . So I descided to sort all the Blumbergs out by looks, At least it can give a hint in which direction to search.
So fare people have sent me hundreds of pictures and it is obvious who is related. My research has no commersial goals and no money is involved and nothing is going to be publised!!! I just desided to be a center for the Blumberg knowledge , since there is no space to share pictures in the Forums.
each time I see something about a Blumberg either charts or Pictures or Gravestones etc. I downloade and save it all to a disc. Who ever is interested can get a copy in the future when I am finished with the research, if the people who gave me their detail are interested in sharing with other Blumberg descendents. It will save a lot of time for other researchers since it is so time consuming to go trough the 100000 files of the Blumbergs in the internet. I live in Israel and I'm married and have 3 sons.I gave the name Blomberg to my sons since my grandfather had no sons. My grandfather Selig Blomberg (Blumberg) was killed in Buchenwald in 1942.
Take care and lots of health to you and your dear ones
Best regards from Pheya Blomberg Yair

My wife and I have good news for the families. We are expecting our first-born in late November!

SO hopefully if everything goes as planned, you will be able to add Mahalia Mae Merrill to the family tree. She would be listed as the daughter of Jeremy Merrill (adopted name - Paul Walo at birth - Son of Diana Walo) and Khalielah Merrill (born Khalielah Butler).

Blumberg of Russ-Poland

My grandfather, David Blumberg was born Aug 25th 1887 in Lomza Russ-Poland. After partition the area is in Poland. Grandfather arrived at Ellis Island on Nov 02 , 1907 aboard The Cedric, Holland American lines. Ships arrival records state the permanent residence of David and his father Jacob as Pionsnica, Russia. Pionsnica is a small village outside of Lomza. His father, Jacob Blumberg and mother Ellen
( translation shown on David's marriage record) Cibulski aka Zibulsky had four children. They were my grandfather, one older and one younger brother and a sister whose first name I don't know. Grandfather's older brother died young. Translation for his name was probably Hyman. His youngest brother's name is probably also translated to Hyman. Grandfather's surviving brother and his wife immigrated to South America sometime in the 1920's. I don't recall whether they went to Rio De Janerio or to Buenos Aries Argentina. Later grandfather's sister joined her brother in South America. She married and had children there. I have a photo of her and her family that she sent to my grandfather but unfortunately no one wrote their names on the back of the photo. Grandfather married twice while in the Unted States. His first wife Annie died in the Flu epidemic of 1918 leaving two small children for him to raise alone. In 1919 he married Mollie and had 5 additional children. They lived on the Lower East Side of Manhattan until the 1940's when they moved to the Bronx. I would love to exchange information with anyone who knows anything about this family since I can only go back to my great grandparents.

My greatgrandpoarenst were also cousins and both born Blumberg. I have collected pictures of all the Blumbergs I could find in the internet and I also recieved pictures from many many Blumberg descendants that I am not related to . One can clearly see who was related from the pictures. Would like to see if yours could be related to any of the ones I found. My work has no commercial goals and is not published anywhere, I do it only for fun.
All the best from Pheya Blomberg Yair
