I also have family desecended from a Blome family in Westfallen.
My great grandfather was Wilhelm Ludwig Heinrich Blome. His brothers were Heinrich Rudolf and Georg Friedrich Blome. They were born, respectively, 1846, 1849, 1852 in Marl (Amt Diepholz), Province Hanover, Germany. Wilhelm Ludwig Heinrich Blome was baptised in Burlage.
Their father was Carl (Karl) Theodor Blome (b, May 11, 1804 in Hesseln near Halle) and their mother was Marie Magdaline Kanning. After their mother died, the three brothers emmigrated to the U.S. in 1869.
Carl's father was Friedrich Adolf Blome who married Anna Maria Louisa Sprick on February 16, 1794. That is as far back as we have it traced.
Carl's three sons, Wilhelm, Heinrich, and Georg, were baptised in Burlage Church, (not far from Marl), Germany, Hanover. The church is still standing, I think.
Anyway, the three Blome boys came to America and all settled in Humboldt, Illinois, a small town in central Illinois. My mother and her father grew up on the farm and in the house my great grandfather Wilhelm Ludwig built. They changed their name to Blume on arrival.
Back to Carl Theodor Blome: He definitely had a sister, Maria Charlotta blome, born May 21, 1794 in Herford, Germany. We have no idea what became of her. (I know it is definite because I have her birth records from St. Peter Evangelisch in Herford, Westfalen.
Carl Theodor Blome MAY have had two other brothers: Johann Friedrich Cristoph Blome and Friedrich Wilhelm Blome, born 1795 and 1796 respectively. (I say MAY, because I found this in an ancestral file on the internet and I have not confirmed it yet.)
If anyone has any information, I would love to hear from you.
