David, Isaac, Anna Blumenthal Russia/Rochester NY

Hello,

I am looking for any info about my ggrandfather David Michael Blumenthal born around 1861 in Russia and who came to the US around 1881. His parents were Issac and Anna (no idea if they came over or what town they lived in) and his first wife's name was Anna Klein who died in 1896 around age 29 in Rochester, NY. They had 4 children (Anna, Julius, Garson and Ida)and he arranged for Rebecca Schoenberg to come over at age 18 (in 1896) from Russia and they married in Rochester, NY. They had 4 more children- Lill, Eva, Molley (my grandmother) and Ruthie. I would like to know what town they came from (I suspect the Ukraine- near Odessa).

Thank you,
amybeth

I am searching for any information on Wilhelm Heinrich Hartung. He was born on 25 OCT 1898 in Magdeburg, Germany, married Charlotte Minna Blumenthal in January of 1929. They had one child. He remarried to a lady with the last name of "Unger". They also had children. He died 29 OCT 1984 in Berlin, Germany. Charlotte went on to live until 1994 in New York. We think that the separation had something to do with her family being Jewish, and can not find anything on them.
Wilhelm's father was Heinrich Friedrich and his mother was Friederika Luisa Schuetze. Charlotte's parents were Nathan Blumenthal and Clara Cohn. Nathan died in NY, NY in 1953 but Clara died in 1935 in Berlin.
Any information would be appreciated.

In collecting pictures for my files I was allowed to borrow a wedding picture of Henrietta Blumenthal to Henry Winterstein(?). Apparently my step G Grandmother was on her way to Duluth for their wedding when she met my G Grandfather. I will be scanning this picture in with the others I borrowed. Anyone connected to either of these people that would like to see it please contact me. Unfortunately I do not have a date for this picture.

Julia

Blumenthals from Orenburg, Russia

Hello,
I'm looking for contacts and information concerning the Blumenthals from Orenburg, Russia. There is a Blumenthal/Blumberg connection there. My cousin Rita Blumenthal was a teacher at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and came to NY via Berlin. I know very little of the Blumberg family and even less of the Blumenthals. Does this geographical connection ring a bell with anyone ? Is there anyone who knew (or is related to) my cousin Rita (who lived on the Upper West Side in NYC) ?
many thanks,
warren blumberg

All I know is there was a Jack Blumenthal and an Estelle Blumenthal. Estelle is still living, but she's in one of those old ladies homes. Soo.. any of this sound familiar? You can e-mail me at Cheese Girl 5000@aol.com. Bye!!
