My name is Andrew Nusbaum. I am 15 years old
and have been tracing my genealogy for over 2
years.
Here is everything I have on my Blumsteins,
who are from Bialystok, Poland.
Robert Blumstein and his wife Sonia lived in
Bialystok and sold farm goods. Sonia died in
1932. They had 8 kids:
1) Yacob Blumstein, born aprox. 1880. He
married Rifka ___ and had 3 sons, Hatskell,
Esher and Haicha Blumstein. Yacob was a butcher and
sold meat to the army. He and his family were
killed aproximately 1940. He was about 60.
2) Benjamin Blumstein, born 1892. He went to
U.S. in 1910 at age 18. He married Serha
Levine. He worked as a garment presser in NYC
until he was crippled in an industrial
accident. He and Serha had 3 kids, Ann,
Robert and Irving Blumstein. Serha died
in 1963. Benjamin died in 1971.
3) Ruchel Blumstein, who married Chaim ___,
a truckdriver. They both died around 1940.
4) Harry Blumstein, who escaped from Poland
at age 21 (year unknown) and moved to the U.S.
He married Sara ___ and had a son, Robert
Blumstein.
5) Miriam Blumstein, born 1896. She married ___
and had 2 kids, a boy a girl (names unknown).
I think she died, since no one in the family ever
heard from her after the war.
6) David Blumstein, who married Cheil, Rifka's
sister. He and Cheil fled to Russia in the
30s/40s, where David was killed. Cheil went
to Israel after WWII.
7) Meyer Blumstein, who married at least 4
times. He was in the Polish Army and had a
wife in Poland- he left in 1924 for Cuba. He
had twin boys by another wife (Rachel), Peter
and Robert Blumstein.
8) Esther Blumstein, born 1907. She married ___
and had 3 boys (names unknown). She and her
family were killed around 1940.
Anyone who thinks there might even
be a link, let me know.
