Dear all.
It would be helpful if American researchers, particularly when heading a Post with a reference to a person born outside of US, could remember that your abbreviations for state/county/town mean nothing to researchers outside of US who may be researching the same family.
TX, KY, MO, and AR are, preumably, abbreviations for your states but are as incompehensible to us in the UK as are our abbreviations such as Hants, Oxon, Bucks and Warks.
It is appreciated that we all become single-minded in our researches but it would be helpful to others separated by a common tongue that we should be aware that others could be helped by our research, providing it is made simple.
KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) should rule.
Colyn.
