Hi, I have found some evidence that the George Blunk that married Tabitha Chance moved with her relatives to Mc Lean Co, Il in the 1842 - 1844 time frame. He aparently died there, and his two children, Joseph and William, are listed on the Michigan 1850 census, Columbia Co, West Point TWP, pg 155, with their mother Tabitha and their step father, Johnson Soward, going upder the name Soward. Next houshold is John chance, Tabitha's brother. Decent enough evidence, more can be had if one cares to look.
Joseph and William by 1860 have both moved back to Mc Lean Co, IL where their grandfather Daniel Chance and other relatives are living. Joseph in 1860 marries Margraret Coday (other sources mistaklenly refered to her as Conly), dau of Nicholas A Coday, and after the war they move to Ottumwa, Wapello Co, IA and his line of Blunk settled in that area and still has living members today. William stayed in IL and married and there is apparently a line still in Mclean Co Il from him.
My question concerning Goerge is about documentation placing him as one of the children of Amos Blunk. Can anyone help with some credible evidence? I have census indications of course, but marriage and/or will documntation would really be great!
Thanks
