I am looking for information on the children of Calvin P Blurton born 1888 and Lena Bell Lasater born 1890. Thier children are Curtis P, Beryle, Harry, Earl E, Lucille, Frankie and my grandmother Margaret. Several of the children were born in Illinois and the last couple born in Missouri before everyone but Curtis moved to Culver City, California by 1930 along with 3 Newby nephews. I am trying deperatly to track down family information on Calvin P Blurton and his origins. I am getting very different stories from many people. I am trying to research my husband’s family tree. I have run into a dead end on the BLURTON line. His grand father was Jesse Gray BLURTON [b. 7 Aug 1870 d. 7 Dec 1941 buried in Cypress Cemetery near Bells, Crockett Co., Tennessee]. Jessie’s father was William “Bill” BLURTON born in Crockett Co., Tennessee. His mother was Tennessee MEDLIN.

Jessie Gray BLURTON married Mary Luna LATHAM [b. 12 Mar 1881 d. 8 Jan 1965 buried in Poplar Grove Cemetery near Henning, Lauderdale Co., Tennessee]. Having been widowed twice, he was her 3rd husband. Mary Luna LATHAM’s parents were William Harrison LATHAM [b. 1 Aug 1850 d. 15 Nov 1913] and Melinda MOORE [b. 6 Jul 1854 d. 11 May 1931].

I first posted in 1999. Most replies concern other lines, does any one know something that will help me with Jesse?

JOHN BLURTON died 1760/1761 Johnston Co., NC

EDWARD BLURTON born about 1758 Johnston Co., NC, died 1833 Wilson Co., TN

HINTON BLURTON born 1791 Johnston Co., NC, married SUSANNAH HOWELL 1816 in Wilson Co., TN; Hinton later moved to Marion Co., IL

Henry is a brother of Edward Blurton of Johnston cty, N.c.
He was also in ARW and got land grant of 1000 acres.

BLURTON, VICTOR BOYD Nov. 13, 1914 to Jan. 3, 2004 Victor Boyd Blurton, 90, of San Diego, passed away January 3, 2004. He was born in Witchita, Kansas. He was a Real Estate Broker. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He joined the Navy before the war, but because he had a BA degree from Witchita College he was eligible for the 90 day Wonders at Annapolis. He served for six years and ended his career as a Lt. Cmdr of the USS Osterhaus. Victor attended school with Joe Stone at Witchita and he and his wife attended the reunions with the crew members and families for a number of years, which are still going on. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Hazel Blurton; daughter Victoria Lynn Audette; son Brian David Blurton; sister Maxine of Eldorado, Kansas, and four grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2004 at 3 p.m. at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. I am looking for info on William BLURTON, born July 1818 in Illinois of Pennsylvania. He married Lucy Ann POOL, born Feb 23 1846 in North Carolina. They married in 1841 in Marion County, Illinois. William died in 1894 an Lucy died in 1906, both in Crawford County, Kansas. Children include Harriet, Martha Jane, Cornelia, Bryant, George, and Mary Elizabeth. Would love to corresond withi anyone researching this line.

Hi, my name is Craig George Blurton. I live in Hong Kong. My father is George Arthur Blurton. He lives in Torrance, California. His mother was Margaret (Arthur) Blurton. She immigrated from Scotland via Canada to Illinois around the turn of the century. I am looking for information about my Grandfather who died in Chicago in the 1970s (I think) and would be interested in tracing him back to England, from where I believe he immigrated.
