My mothers name is Carolyn (Bly) Scott. Her fathers name was James Wallace Bly from Michigan, his father was Thomas Howard Bly born in Ohio, his mother was Katherine Bly. She was said to be born in Ohio also, 1920 census for Mecosta county MI says she was head of household but married. She came to MI alone with my great grandfather. We have no idea if Bly was her married name or maiden name, we think she may have lied about being married. I know that she was born in 1886 or 1887 but I dont know who her parents were, if she had siblings.
My grandfather, my great uncle and my uncle all passed away from Lou Gerhig's Disease and my mother and her cousin were both diagnosed in December 2005. It is a very fast progressing form of ALS called SOD1 A4V. So if any of the Bly's have this disease in their family I would greatly appreciate ANY information given!
