Henry C. Boardman, Missouri?

I have found an old case in our courthouse where someone is trying to get a clear title to a piece of property that was owned by a Henry C. Boardman, who is long since dead. The plaintiff has no idea who his heirs might be. In 1860 and 1870, Maries County Census shows a William Boardman, born in England, and has daughters born in New York, and then has settled in Maries County. Are William and Henry related? I have found nothing else that mentions Henry.

Hi,

I'm wondering if there are any people out there researching Thomas Boardman from Wexford born around 1800-1820. My ggg grandfather John Wilkinson was close friends with Thomas and he sent Thomas letters on his voyage from Ireland to Australia in 1838. I was just wondering on the off-chance that for some reason those letters may have been past down!

Cheers,

Tim Wilkinson

Seek contact with any male descendant of Joseph Boardman, b.1753 in Mass., to perhaps solve this ancestry puzzle. A simple swab, with no information release, can prove/disprove the line to Thomas Boreman.

Looking for someone who might help me make the connection with my Boardman family (related to my Root family), and Boardmans in NY State. The earliest I find Eleanor A. (Glover) Boardman in Kalamazoo, MI in 1860, wth sons Alonzo (b. about 1831), Albert D. (b. about 1835), William J. (b. about 1837).
Eleanor A. Boardman died in Kalamazoo in 1886. I lose track of her sons. I believe Alonzo moved back to NY State earlier than 1886. Does anyone have any further info?

Thanks for any help you may have....

I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “Kate, Harold & Lila Boardman”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about early 1899-1900, in Westfield (Hampden Co.) MA, and the children look to be between 4 and 7. On the back of the photo is “Mrs. N. S. Boardman, 233 Mt. Zoar”.

I found this family in 1900 living in Canaan (Litchfield Co.) CT. Father was Normand S. Boardman (b.Aug 1858), a clergyman. Wife Ada, born same month/yr. Children Eliza (Sept 1890 NY); Catherine (May 1892 NY), Norman H. (Jan 1894 NY), Ada M. (Sep 1896 in MA); and Althea R. (Apr 1900 in CT). By 1910 census of Elmira (Chemung Co.) NY, this family lived AT 236 Mt. Zoar Rd., in Elmira (which is what is written on the back of the photo). Normand S. and Ada were 51; Lila D., 14; Catharine, 17; Normand, 16; Ada M., 13; and Althea R., 10.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to this Boardman family.

I'm looking for descendents of my great-great grandfather, Thomas Malcolm Boardman (1842-1927), son of Edward Terry Boardman. Thomas was born Indiana. He married Sarah Elizabeth Day (1847-1924) in Indiana, and he moved his family to Scott County Missouri about 1890.

I have recently been given a photo album that belonged to Thomas' daughter, my great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Boardman Irvin (1866-1925). There are more than 50 photographs and postcards. some are Thomas' children, some are probably Irvins (sons of Franklin Irvin of Warrick county IN), and one is of my ggg grandmother, Cynthia Ginat Day. I need help identifying some people, and I'm happy to send digital copies of the photos and card to cousins.

I just heard on a TV show called Antique Road Show that a Langley Boardman was a furniture maker in the 1800's in Portsmouth.
I thought they said MA but I find no Portsmouth, MA -- maybe they said VA. He may be related to me - does he fit with your family?

Susannah Boardman? - wife of Thomas Burnham (b1693) of Ipswich, MA

Hello:

I'm Seeking the maiden name, marrige date/loc, birth date/loc and ancestry of the Susannah who married Thomas Burnham of Ipswich, Essex, MA. Thomas was born 22 Sep 1673 in Ipswich, Essex, MA, son of John and Elizabeth (Wells) Burnham and died 16 Dec 1748 in Ipswich, Essex, MA. His wife Susannah died 27 May 1748 in Ipswich, Essex, MA. They would have married about 1700, as they had a child Jeremiah born about 1702 in Ipswich.

Some undocumented sources I've found indicate that this wife Susannah might actually be Margaret Susannah Boardman born 5 Apr 1681 in Ipswich, but I've not been able to find sources supporting this.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Bob

Maria TASKER (BOARDMAN) (nee MULLIN) b.1841 (Ulster>AUS - Vic/NSW)

Urgently seeking any information about a Maria TASKER formerly BOARDMAN. Maria was born Maria MULLIN in Belfast, Ireland ~ 1841 daughter of a William MULLIN & Mary nee PATTERSON. After William's death ~ 1850, thought to be in Liverpool, England, Mary brought Maria, her son John (b.1846) & sister Matilda Jane (b.~1834) to Victoria, Australia where they settled in theSmythes Creek area ~ early 1850s.. Maria married a Henry BOARDMAN (gold miner) in Christ Church Ballarat in 1861. After his death near Scarsdale in 1866 Maria's whereabouts are a little unclear but some years later she is living at 229 Simpsons Road (now Victoria Street),Collingwood, Melbourne, Victoria & re-married to a John Walter TASKER in Moor Street, Fitzroy, Victoria in 1888. Nothing is known of their married years but I know that John died in 1896 in a flat in La Trobe Street, Melbourne. Interestingly no mention of Maria was made on his death certificate and John is buried in a paupers grave at the Melbourne Cemetery at Carlton. I have no idea what happened to Maria after that..in fact not really after 1888! Maybe she left John tears prior to his death but who knows??Can anyone please enlighten me on Maria later life & what her fate was?? If so I am greatly appreciative...Thank you in anticipation. Cheers, Rob Bell, Essendon, Victoria, Australia.
Boardman Surname Project

Our Boardman Surname project is up and running with exciting new results. We currently have 6 participants and results from two of the 25 marker Y-Chromosome analyses. Allen Boardman and I are co-administrators of the project and we have both received our results, which show an IDENTICAL MATCH on all 25 markers. The immediate significance is that these DNA results confirm with a 99+% probability that Thomas Boreman (bpt Claydon England Oct. 18, 1601 - came to New England 1634) and Samuel Boreman ( bpt Banbury England Aug 20, 1615, came to New England 1638) share a common great grandfather in Thomas Boreman “the elder” of Claydon,England. The Y-Chromosome tests will also help determine the earlier origins and travels of our predecessors! We invite male Boardmans who believe that they may be descended from William Boreman (b Banbury abt 1525), his son Thomas “the elder’ (b Claydon 1546), and their male descendents to join the Boardman Surname project. If interested please email me
( jselover@adelphia.net ) or Allen Boardman
( boardmaa@fidnet.com ) for further details.

William Boardman England to New York to Missouri

I am researching the William Boardman family that was enumerated in the Maries County, MO census of 1860 and 1870. In 1860, William, born about 1815 in England, is enumerated with his wife, Margaret, born about 1825, in England. Both William and Margaret appear to have been married before. William shows three daughters, Sarah,22, Josephine, 19 and Mary, 15, all being born in New York. So that puts William in New York by 1838, if not sooner. I am trying to find his first wife - was she from New York, did she come from England? His current 1860 wife, Margaret, also born in England, shows she has a 10 year old daughter, Emily Brown that was born in England. Meaning that Margaret Brown didn't come to the U.S. until 1850 or later. Who was Margaret's first husband? What was Margaret's maiden name? In the 1860 census, William and Margaret Boardman have two daughters together, Alice, 4, and Abigail, 2. Both these children were born in MO. So Margaret and William maybe got married about 1855, could have been in Missouri.
In the 1870 Maries County MO census, Sarah still lives in the Boardman household, but Josephine and Mary are gone. There are no marriages in Maries County for any Boardman's - nor are there any marked burials. Where did these two girls go? Alice and Abigail are still with William and Margaret, but they also have two more daughters, Amanda and Elizabeth. The family isn't enumerated after 1870 in Maries County MO. The land deeds show they were selling their property in 1872 and 1873. Where did this family go? In 1860, there is another family from England, Entwistle, enumerated next door. Is there a connection? Ann Entwistle was Ann Grimshaw before marrying SAmuel Entwistle.
Thanks!

Can anyone out there help me at all. I have been searching for information on my Gt. Grandmother Sarah Boardman for almost 5 years and can't find out a great deal about her. The information that I DO have is as follows:
Sarah Boardman born approx 1859. The 1901 census shows hers as 'born Macclesfield' but I'm not too sure that this is correct since there are no birth records in this area for her. She 'married' Thomas Moore ("of Liverpool but possibly an Irish immigrant) and they had my Grandmother, Hannah in 1886. Hannah was born in Nantwich Union Workhouse whilst Thomas was working and living in Hawk Street, Sandbach, Cheshire which I am told was a silk dye mill and tenaments for workers. I'm pretty sure that this is why their child (my Grandma) was born in the workhouse. The only other information that I have is their sons birth certificate. He was born In Macclesfield, Cheshire in Sept 1892 and the family were, at that time, living in Water Street, Macclesfield. Sarah (widower) and her children appear on the 1901 census, still in Macclesfield but obviously Thomas died sometime before this. Sarah died in Macclesfield in 1907 aged 48 years.

PLEASE, PLEASE, DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SARAH BOARDMAN AND HER ORIGINS.
I can be contacted at skeandhu@supanet.com
Searching for descendants of Corey Berry Boardman. His father's name was Charles Adrian Volkart Boardman and was born in 1845 in Chittenango, NY (Madison County, Town of Sullivan). His mother's name was Winifred Frances Whitney Boardman and was born in Onondaga County, NY around the same time period. I am not sure of Corey's date of birth or death, but I am pretty sure he stayed in the Central NY area (Fulton, NY also). Thank you for any info you can give me.
