Was supposedly married to a physician (who's name we haven't discovered yet). Adoption is involved so records are sparse. Possibly also lived in or near Midland, Michigan.

William Henry Bock was my grandfather. His brother was Herman. Both born and raised around Omaha, NE. Herman and his family moved to PA. Their father died when they were young and their mother remarried. My grandfather said little about his roots. About the only thing I know is that his grandmother or great grandmother was the sole survivor of an Indian Attack in Minnisota. Can anyone help me fill in any of the pieces? Thanks in advance.

Susannah Bock, married Nicholas Bachert

I'm going back to very early Pennsylvania with this inquiry.

Here's what I have so far:
a) a fraktur which states that Nicholas Bachert and Susannah Bock were the parents of a 3rd Great Aunt of mine

b) The Aunt's brother who is my 3rd Great Grandfather is Anthony Bachert.

c) The earliest I find Nicholas Bachert is the 1790 census in Penn Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It also is likely him on the 1788 Tax Rolls there.

d) Anthony is not a common given name on the Bachert side of things. And yet, according to probate records, Anthony was Nicholas Bachert's eldest son.

e) which leads me to believe that Anthony very likely was Susannah (Bock) Backert's father's given name.

f) there is an Anthony Bock in the 1800 Census for Heydelberg Township, Northampton County, but if connected, likely would be a brother to Susannah, not her father.

g) other surnames on this census listing are common to the Bachert scene in Penn Township (Andreas, Balliet etc.).

What I'm not finding are gedcoms which deal with an Anthony Bock of this era at all.

Any ideas?

Joe Hittle
skadj@yahoo.com
www.hittle.info
Bock - Buffalo 1870-1900

My great-great grandfather was Julius Bock, married to Elwina. They came to the US from Pommerania? about 1873-4.

They had 4 or 5 daughters:
Minna (Minnie) b 1872
Bertha b 1875
Eleanora b 1878
Julia b 1880 - my greatgrandmother (married John Kellerman)
?Elizabeth b 1885 - may be a niece

This the only information I have. The family is listed is the 1880 NY census. By 1900, only Julia is listed. I believe her parents must have died before 1900, her sisters probably were married.

Julia married John Kellerman about 1902. They had 2 children - my grandmother Marguerite and her brother Norman.

Bertha may have married a Ryan and I believe Minna had 2 daughters, Olive and Bessie. I remember them as cousins of my grandmother, but I don't know what their maiden name was.

Eleanora or Elizabeth may have married a Masters.

This is all the information I have. If anyone has any additional information, I would really appreciate it.

Source Citation: Year: 1930; Census Place: Hamilton, Ravalli, Montana; Roll: 1260; Page: 9A; Enumeration District: 4; Image: 958.0.

Household Members: Name Age
Dan L Bock 28 teacher - public school
Dora R Bock 27
Kieth R Bock 1 4/12
==============================
Bock, Keith R.

79, died March 31, 2008, peacefully at home in the company of his much beloved wife Dona. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 4, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 17244 Randall Avenue in Fontana where Keith and Dona are long-time members. Keith was born November 20, 1928, in Hamilton, Montana, the only child of Dora Robison Bock and Dan Allen Bock. Keith grew up in Billings, Montana and married Dona Doris Dunn on June 10, 1950. Keith, a metallurgical engineer with a B.S. from the Montana School of Mines and an M.S. from Purdue University, spent his early career with Kaiser Steel, where he developed many lasting friendships. Keith retired from Kaiser in 1984. He then worked for California Steel Industries until his retirement in 1993. After retirement he worked as a building inspector specializing in concrete and welding. Keith enjoyed hiking and was a Scout leader in Fontana for many years. Jogging was part of his lifestyle so far back that running wasn't considered a leisure activity and people would wonder if there was an emergency (especially if he was trailed by a few of his children). Planting and tending his citrus grove and roses were ongoing activities. Keith is survived by his wife Dona, his sons Dan Bock and Matthew Bock, sons and daughters-in-law Clay and Mary Ann Bock, Keith (Rob), Jr. and Lisa Bock; daughter Amy Colbrunn, daughters and sons-in-law Alice and Mark Clark, Julie and Jeff Hoy; grandchildren Dan, Jr., and Donovan Bock; Aaron and Liza Clark; Alicia and Ashley Bock and their mother Bonnie; Becky (Hoy) Mifflin and Ryan Hoy; David, Samantha, and Alexandra Bock and their mother Diana; Andrew, Bryan, Caylee Bock and David Chavarria; Karissa and Hayden Colbrunn and their father Brian; great-grandchildren Dan, III, and Marley Bock and Jay and Wes Palin; Jenna and Seth Mifflin; Brooke Hoy. The family would like to thank Kaiser surgeon Dr. David Vannix and the rehab staff who saw Keith through the aftermath of his serious brain injury after being struck by a car while walking the dog in July of 2000 and Kaiser internist Dr. James Morgenstern who has provided ongoing medical care to both Keith and Dona. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for First Baptist Church of Fontana.
Published in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin on 4/3/2008.

I am looking for Carl Bock, his wife Anna Hansen and children who immigrated to America 1851-52, entering at New Orleans and settling in the Davenport, Iowa area. There were eight children. Five were found in the 1845 census of Wahlsdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany: Fritz 11, Emma 8, Carl 7, Dorothea 5 and Heinrich 3. There would have been three more children born between the 1845 census and 1851 when they immigrated. Dorothea married Nicholas Blocker in Scott County 25 Mar 1856. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Bock: DEU>NY, USA

I am searching for the following family line, ancestors of my husband's Himelein family. They came to the US sometime after 1839 and before 1854 and settled in the Chautauqua Co., NY area. Most of this line is buried in Mina Corner Cemetery in Mina, NY. Photos of the tombstones are available upon request. Any assistance in this line is most welcome!

Descendants of Lorenzo Bock

Generation No. 1

1. Lorenzo1 Bock was born Jan 1800 in Saxe-Coburg, DEU, and died 11 Feb 1868 in Mina, Chautauqua, NY. He married Margaret Stubenrauch Abt. 1824 in Saxe-Coburg, DEU. She was born Abt. 03 Dec 1803 in DEU, and died 10 Nov 1883 in Mina, Chautauqua, Ny.

Children of Lorenzo Bock and Margaret Stubenrauch are:
2	i.	Margaret Barbara2 Bock, born 09 Jul 1825 in DEU; died 14 Jun 1902.
3	ii.	John Henry Boke, born 27 Feb 1829 in DEU; died 08 May 1905.

Notes for John Henry Boke:
A letter to his sister, Julia Bock Himelein, dated November 2, 185? has him mining in "Roach Hill" California.

+	4	iii.	Lorenzo Bock, born 15 Aug 1830 in DEU; died 28 Feb 1897.
5	iv.	George Buck, born 12 Jul 1834 in DEU; died 20 Jul 1906.
6	v.	Nickolaus Boke, born 03 Aug 1836 in DEU; died 31 Oct 1872.
+	7	vi.	Julia Dorothea Bock, born 30 May 1839 in Saxe-Coburg, Thuringia, DEU; died 10 Apr 1909.

Generation No. 2

4. Lorenzo2 Bock (Lorenzo1) was born 15 Aug 1830 in DEU, and died 28 Feb 1897. He married (1) Anna M. ?. She died 29 Nov 1897. He married (2) Margaret Keyser 11 Jan 1854 in Clymer Hill, Clymer, Chautauqua Co., NY. She was born Abt. 18 Apr 1834, and died 02 Mar 1880.

Children of Lorenzo Bock and Margaret Keyser are:
8	i.	Sarah3 Bock, born Abt. 1857; died 24 Jul 1867.
9	ii.	Johnny Bock, born Abt. Aug 1862; died 20 Apr 1863.
10	iii.	? Bock, died Unknown.

Notes for ? Bock:
There is a tombstone in Mina's Corner cemetery, next to the three children of Lorenzo Jr. and Margaret, that is basically buried in a tree planted there. I was unable to get a clear picture of the stone as it leans against the tree and there is barely room to get in to see it, but believe it says the name "AMY". Hope to get a better picture and/or rubbing on next visit. Also, a stone other than the two known children listed that says simply "Infant, (illegible) of L & M Buck (rest illegible)", so there are possibly these two children in addition to "Johnny" and "Sarah".

7. The singing by the choir of Mr. Bock's favorite hymn ---- "Throw Out the Life Line," was impressive. All living members of the immediate family being present, together with a number of near relatives, made the group of mourners very large. The pall bearers were Messrs. George Hart, Eugene Sweet, J.I. Gilmore, W.R. Wney, E.R. Bissell, and G.W. Ware. Interment was made at Mountain View.
Adam Buck was born in Germany, Feb. 7, 1835. When 20 years of age he came to America and located near Williamsport, Pa., an it was at this place he was united in marriage with Katie Rechert. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Lizzie Moyer, William Bock of Sumner, Charles Bock of Auburn and Joseph Bock of Minneapolis, Kansas --- all of whom were present when he died.
July 11, 1871, the mother died. On February 12, 1874, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Drumader, and soon after removed to Seneca county, Ohio. To this union four children were born: Frank, Arthur, Thedia and Franklin -- the first child dying in infancy. The last three survive their father and are living in Auburn and were also present at his death.
After living in Ohio three years he transferred his residence to Ottawa, Kansas, where they lived about twenty-three years. In 1891 he again started westward, locating at Auburn where he has spent the last eight years of his life, passing away at his home June 18, 1909 at 1:15 a.m.
He held the esteem and respect of all who knew him, and the family have the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends. ----- Auburn (Wash) Argus

Bock family from City of Hamburg

I have little information about my gggrandfather; but, acording to his declaration of intent, he emigrated in 1867 and declared he was renouncing ???? from the City of Hamburg. Hoping there is someone else who has family from Hamburg that may be related and know something about the German side of the family. His name was Carl (census name)/Charles (divorce paper name - no marriage record found) Bock and from census information he was born around 1848. I have census information from WI (1870/1880) and IL (1900/1910) listing him (or who I think is him). One of his sons - the eldest, Herman(born ^ late 1874/early 1875) is still a brick wall so hoping that backtracking may lead to his whereabouts - so far no luck. Hope this may reach someone with information.
Thank You!

Phillip went to Callaway County and died there. J Wilhelm lives in Gasconade County.
Is there anyone with information on either of these? the Bachs or Bocks?

An old photo postcard of Sternhagen, Bock and Dix taken at High Cliff, WI 1912

I found this old photo postcard in an antique store and am looking for family who may want it. The photo is of a group of young adults in front of a house or school house. The writing on the back says " Taken at High Cliff, Wis.(Calumet county) Sept. 1st, 1912. From left to right Hattie Sternhagen, Viola Bock, Billy, Elsie Sternhagen, George, Eva Dix, and Lora Bock". This photo may already have a new home but I can send downloads of it for anyone interested. Thank you.

Henry Bock in Missouri, mid-1800's

I have just posted a portion of my family tree, which includes a Bock family (Henry and 5 children) who arrived in Missouri in 1857. Among them is a younger Henry Bock who may be listed in the 1860 census in Missouri but about whom I have no subsequent knowledge. There are also three daughters, two of whom appear to have married people named Dahmann and Heuer or Heurer. The website is http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm-cgi?db=bock-kes.... I'd welcome hearing from anyone who thinks they may have a connection.
Richard Bock

Herman Bock b. ^December 1874

I am reaching out to fellow family genealogy hunters in the hopes someone may have come across a Herman Bock, according to the New Holstein, WI 1880 census, born in Wisconsin. His mother was Doris Piper/Pieper (2nd marriage name Prueter) and his father was Carl/Charles Bock. The father abandoned the family in 1881 so he may not have known his father's name. According to the mother's 1900 and 1910 census reports, I believe he died between 1900 and 1910. Any help/information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

I am searching for information on Carl Bock b. ^1848, Germany, Herman b. 1874, Arthur b. 1876, and Carl b. 1878. Carl appears in the 1870 New Holstein, WI census as a servant in the Dr Charles Bock house. The 1880 New Holstein census lists Carl, wife Doris, sons Hermann, Arthur, and Carl - nephews Oskar and Johan. Carl and his sons disappear from this point for me. Doris(Piper Bock) married Fredrick Prueter in 1887. Any information would be a great help.

Hello,
My name is Jerzy M. Long time ago I got cadastre documents which are from 1890 - 1944 about the villiage Wicko(Vietzig) near Lębork( Kreis Lauenburg ). They include many border protocols (Grenzverhandlung ) and cadastre drawings( handriss ). All those files were written there by special official and descibe borders of all parcels. All of them were also sighned by owners of the land, thats why I have signatures of all land owners and officials from Vietzig, and that are:
Bock Ferdinand, Bock Adolf, Bock Leo
I presume that You might be interested in those documents as they might be a family souvenir. If You are interested in that kind of documents, then write back.

Yours sincerely
Jerzy M.
Looking for ancestors of siblings Gustav Wilhelm BOCK (b. 7 May 1847, d. 9 April 1933), Henrietta W. BOCK Zimmerman (b. 4 Oct 1860, d.1925), and Augusta Martha BOCK Zimmerman (b. 16 Aug 1853, d. ?). Their father's name is thought to be Chris BOCK and mother's name is thought to be Louise (REDEMSKE?). The three siblings immigrated to Kansas (Wabaunsee County) in period of 1879 to 1882 from (probably) Lauenburg/Charbrow/Leba region of Prussia --- or what is now Lebork/Charbrowo/Leba region of northwest Poland.
Other siblings may have been Wilhelmina and Fred (Friedrich?).

Bock: Holstein Germany>NE>Dakota Territory>WY

I have a huge tree here on rootsweb with 46 Bocks. The tree starts with FREDERICK WILLIAM BOCK who was born in 1842 in Holstein,Germany, and died in 1918 in Rochford,South Dakota. He married AUGUSTA who was born in 1842 in Holstein,Germany and died date unknown in location unknown.

Their children were

1. George Bock was born 1865 in Holstein,Germany.
2. Eugene Alfred "Gene" Bock was born 1869 in Nebraska
3. Gerhardt Frederick "Gay" Bock was born 17 AUG 1871 in Plattsmouth,Nebraska, and died 6 OCT 1935.
4. Frederick Bock was born 1877 in Nebraska.

Gerhardt married Leta Mollenbrink and they had 12 children who then produced scores of grand children and great-grand children. I have all the names if anyone is interested.

What I'd love to know is who Frederick W and Augusta descended from. They came to the USA from Holstein, Germany, between 1865 and 1869 and settled in Omaha Nebraska. From there they moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota and most of their descendants migrated to Wyoming where many of them still live.

You can see the whole tree here: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=piperwar...

Name: Max Carl Louis BOCK
Birth: 3 Mar 1872
Baptised: 21 Apr 1872
Father: Friedrich BOCK
Mother: Julie WOLGRAM

I found this baptism among some copies of records of the First Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, while researching my own family. The church was located at 18th and Peoria Streets in Chicago, IL, and it's records are some of the few that survived the Chicago Fire. They are now on microfilm at the Newberry Library.
Hope it helps someone.

I am seeking any information on The parents and siblings of my Great Grandfather, HENRY BOCK. He was b. Apr 18, 1872 in IL and d. Mar 31, 1928 in Alton, Madison County, IL.
He married EMMA KATHERINE BRANDT daughter of Henry Brandt & Mary ??. m. date: Oct 9, 1899.
I have reason to believe that his father's name was also Henry. I believe that Henry sr. immigrated here from Hamburg Germany. I have nothing on who his wife was. I would like to know more about them and if Henry JR. had any siblings as well. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You
