My ancestors also came from Germany they arrived here by boat but unsure the reason why they came to New Zealand.Orginally Bockman was spelt with 2 "n's" on the end not sure why or how it changed. No one in the family had the name George but it was a nick name given to a family member this I find amazing to learn there is a George Bockman. My Grandfather was John Frederick.

He was John Carl Bockmann born in Chicago, IL 17 Nov 1886-Died Feb 1961 Omaha, NE. Married to Margaretta C Goodhart Born in Papillion, NE 17 Dec 1888-Died Feb 1957 Omaha, NE.
John's Father is Henry Bockmann born 1862 in Pinneburg, Germany married to Anna Johanna Kring born in Muhleim, Germany Died in omaha. They had 5 children one of which was John Bockmann.

Wow, I was just surfing around and saw that you had actually answered my message.
Four more years have passed and I'm still married to my wonderful wife Roslyne. On December 31st, we'll celebrate our 13th anniversary. Still no children but, still have one cat. The other one died 3 years ago.
I still work for the public shool system here in Tampa and, planning on retiring at 62. That's 6 years from now.
I bet you are caring wife and, a worderful mother to your three children. From reading your last message, it looks like your husband was in the AirForce, stationed in Homestead, FL. You must have been there BEFORE the hurricane.

Hi Cort,
I occasionaly type in my maiden name as I am often looking for info. about my family. I was pleasantly surprised to see your note. I am alive and well in Massachusetts. I got married 16 years ago and have a wonderful husband and 3 beautiful children. I did go to college and actually earned 2 Bachelor degrees. Now, I am a stay at home, home schooling mom. I moved to Homestead, Fl. in the 80's and met my husband there. We got married and moved to Colorado, then Illinois and now Mass. I've often thought of you and wondered how your life was unfolding. You were a good friend of Gina (Regina)Brugman (Usera) and her brother David Brugman last residing at 3 Peachtree Lane in Huntington, Long Island, New York, located across the Walt Whitman Shopping Center.

We were lall ooking over some old family home movies yesterday 6/20/04, when you appeared in one of them. Now I am curious to find out how you are doing.

I am their older brother Cort, who briefly dated you during 1974-75 when I used to come home on week-end leave.

I've been married for 7 years, no children, two cats and living in Tampa, Florida since 1990. I currently work for the School Board of Manatee County here in Florida, as a District Area Supervisor for 18 school site cafeterias.

I am not sure of when they married or where they were living, but Dorothy was born June 1883 in MD to Frank and Annie Alsip. I am not sure what his name was either....I am hoping someone can help me in this area. Also any help in the census too...1920 and on or earlier.

My brother James is most likely the one who reported on our father's researches, but our family came from the Oldenburger-Munsterland, not from Prussia. So I doubt that "from the beech trees" applies to the Bockman name in question.

My father did alot of work on our last name which used to be translated "from the Beech Trees". The German spelling has an umlat (don't know if I spelled that right but it look like two dots) over the o. If you are unable to make the two dots over the o then you put an e after the o or Boeckmann

Someone sent me the spelling as Boeckmann but another translated it Bockmann both people translated it from the chrurch record but I don't know which is accurate.

Heinrich Bockman came from Pinneberg, Germany with wife Anna and daughter Auguste dob- Nov 1888 on July 19, 1889. They also had to sons Heinrich Christian dob-Jan 7, 1861 and Karl Johann Hinrich Friedrich Wilhelm Bockmann Dob- Dec 11, 1870. The boys settled in Nebraska & later died here but Auguste went back to Pinnebreg and passed April 9 1945. Any information would be appreciated.

I have Brockman ancestors. Two brothers who left Hannover, Germany
arriving at New Orleans in the 1840's. They went to St. Louis where they stayed
for about 2 years and worked as brickmakers.
Frank moved to Peoria, Illinois where he met and married.
He settled in Rockford, Illinois in a cigar store and then on to a furniture business
which he ran with his nephew Joseph.
Bernhart Brockman met Maria Gesina in St. Louis, Missouri and married Nov of 1846. They
left there and traveled to Dubuque, Iowa where
they lived for about a year. Then on to
Guttenberg, Iowa where he worked as a brick
maker and then went into farming. They have another brother
who came from Hanover, Germany. We do not know his name. Their parents were deceased and also
3 brothers and l sister were buried in the
fatherland. If this has any connection pleas

The Christopher Bockman I am looking for was born in Smith County TN in 1812. His wife Nancy Ann Fultz was born in 1815 in the same county and state.
I show Christopher died in Oregon County MO in 1862 and Nancy Ann in 1856. My records show 11 children, 9 of them girls.
I don't have parents for either Nancy Ann or Christopher although I do have the following children: (not in birth order) Nancy Ann, Mary, Elizabeth, Martha, Frances, Sarah, Caroline Carrie, Jeffrey, John, Josephine and Stella.

Although the name Christopher and Fultz are familiar that is all I know. It might help to have your husbands great grandfather and also the areas in TN in which they might be found.

I am searching for the Bockman name in Middle TN particularly in Putnam, Jackson, and/or Smith counties in Mid TN. Trying to locate information on a Christopher Bockman born about 1812 in TN. I know he married a Nancy Ann Fultz born about 1815 also of TN. They had a daughter Louiza Jane Bockman who married my husband's great-grandfather. Louiza was one of 12 children so there should be lots of other siblings out there.
