Searching descendants of Galen BOD(D)Y born c. 1719/20 and his wife Mary (maiden name unknown). Galen Body was a stonemason at Sawley, in the parish of Ripon, old West Riding Yorkshire, England. Had at least four children: Thomas (md 1)Isabella Harrison; 2)Mary Hopwood), Ursula (md Anthony Blakey), Galen (md Jane Render) and Henry (md Mary Squires). Galen BOD(d)y died in 1775 and is buried (tombstone still standing) at Sawley churchyard. Family was Roman Catholic. Henry Boddy had at least 12 children. The daughters married into the families listed above. Galen Boddy and Jane Render Boddy had one son, John who was born about 1771 and was a miller at Raventofts Mill and Farm in the township of Bishop Thornton, Ripon parish, YKS. He inherited Ravnetofts Farm (not Hall) from his father Galen. John and Elizabeth (Dawson) Boddy had several children, including: James (md. Ellen Dilworth and raised family at Bolton in Lanc. James died 1861); Barnard was a miller at various locations including Langthorpe, Kirby Hill near Boroughbridge, had two wives: Ann Buckle Moorhouse and Ann Wilks and several children. Barnard died 28 July 1889 at Doncaster and is buried there; Jane Boddy married John Spence, a chemist, on 28 Aug 1821 in Leeds, they emigrated to America, no additional infor; Elizabeth Boddy married John Moorhouse 3 Jun 1829 at Ripley; they too emigrated to America, no additional info. My direct ancestor, Galen Boddy, was born c. 1799, married 1822 Ann Rainforth at her parish church, Hornby by Bedale. At least three children born in England before family emigrated to Wyoming County, New York 1832/33. The four children of Ann (Rainforth) and Galen Boddy:

Elizabeth, b.c. 1827, married David P. Rood, accidentally drowned Mississippi River 1855---one son Eli Rainforth Rood (searching for his descendants in Michigan and elsewhere)
William Boddy, b. 1831, married Hannah Hatfield, died in Rochester, NY
Jospeh Boddy, b. 1834 NY, married Mary Warren 1858 at Orangeville, Wyoming County, NY. Migrated to Kansas in 1879.
