My great great grandmother was a Bodi(Baudin, Beaudin, etc)
Am trying to find out which Louis Bodi was her father and who was her mother. So bear with me, here goes:
Her name is Mary Louise (Louisa)Bodi, she was born, according to my grandmothers Bible records, on Aug 1830, in MI. She died in 1915. She is on the St. Joseph Toussaint Records of Frenchtown, Ottawa Co. Ohio. For some reason unknown to me, I have a feeling she is a Cloutier, Cluckie. She married Francis Veler, (b. abt 1830) and they moved to Toledo, OH and lived on the east side for the last 50 yrs of their lives. They are both French Canadian Catholic of course and on census records are always with this group of people. They had 11 children, William, Dominic Villers, Stephen, Julia (my grandmother who married Daniel Rumery, whose father was Anthony Navarre a brother of the famous Peter Navarre, the Scout), Anthony, Mary, Charles Henry, Daniel Samuel, Rose and Joseph. My gg grandmother Veler was called Louise, Louisa. She and her husband are both buried in the old Mominee Cemetery now St. Ignatius in Oregon twp.
On Louise Bodi's death certificate, her son gave the name of her father as Louis Bodi, b. Canada and did not know the name of her mother. (On some census records, Louise's year of birth is given as 1840, which is an error, but her age was correct, so feel sure Grandma's Bible records are correct. I know there were a lot of Louis Bodi's in the Toledo area. I thought she was the dau. of the one born in early 1800's and buried in the Fremont, OH, St. Ann's cemetery but according to Fr. Denissen's records, she was not listed, although would have been possible. Thanks for any help or ideas, I have been trying to crack this brick wall for many yrs. Lynne
