My name is Barry Shelly and my Great Grandfather was Gustava Von Boeckman. My grandmother was Elfreda who moved from Alabama to Memphis. I live in Arlington, TN right outside of Memphis and I'm trying to find out who my Great Great Grandfather Von Boeckman was and where he lived. I agree that Gustava was a concert pianoist. My Grandmother told me the same thing. I want to know more. Update me if you have anything.

Searching for information on Carl D. von Boeckmann, b. 1885, maybe in Texas. Married Annie Belle Cavender, August 19,1913. She was born July 17, 1893 in Dilley, Texas.

Carl and Annie had two children, a daughter, Onine ,born 1915 and a son, Carlton, born 1917. At some point this family moved to Pueblo, Colorado. Annie would pass on June 29,1923. She was only 30 years of age. No idea what caused her death.

After Annies death has been impossible for me to locate Carl and the children...Does anyone have any information they will share? Annie is part of my family tree.

Thanks,

Joretta Lewis

My great great grandfather Henry Boeckmann, born May 16, 1811 in Oldenburg, Germany, came to the United States before 1830. He lived in the Cassella, Ohio (Mercer Co.) area. I know he had two sisters living in that area, Anna Mary (Boeckmann) Greivenkamp and Maria Elizabetha (Boeckmann) Aschman. I think Helena Katharina (Boeckmann) Schrandt was another sibling, but don't know for sure. Does anyone know other siblings and the parents of Henry Boeckmann from Cassella, Ohio?
Hello, I don't know if this is the same Henry, but here goes. I have an William Boeckmann who is my great grandfather on my grandmother's side. He was born in 1861. I know nothing about a Henry, except that in some old photos I have a picture of Henry and his wife (no name). I also have a picture of his 2 daughters Lillian & Hilda. I think Hilda married a Ruprecht. The picture says that they are my grandmother's cousins.

Let me know if these could be the same. He was from Beecher, IL.

Anna M. (nee BECKINAN) Detmer 1813-1863, Cleveland since 1837

"Beckinan" spelling appeared in Anna's daughter, Mary Agnes (nee Detmer) LUKEN's death certificate, completed by Mary's daughter, in 1921. "Detmer" was spelled "Delmer". We are wondering if anyone is aware of the name "Beckinan" from Germany in the mid 1800's. Anna M. ?? married GH Detmer prior to 1837 and they lived in Cleveland till his death in 1883. Trying to find out if she had any siblings and who her parents were--perhaps tracing back to the village she was born. Thank you.

Diane, my Boeckman ancestors came from Hannover area too. Two sisters, Mary & Dora, came over around 1880 (Mary around age 21), stayed in Kansas City area for about 5 years, then followed a wagon train to Washington Territory, earning their keep by cooking and doing laundry on the way. When Mary married Joseph Schuster in 1888?, her name was spelled Buchtmann, but the German spelling is closer to Boeckmann or Beuckman. Her sister, Dora, also married a Schuster, but no relation to Joseph as far as we know. She had brothers in Germany; Henry, Franz, etc, but they could have later come to Kansas City also. Have you heard any similar stories via posts? I haven't found the ship they came over on...YET, nor their naturalization records (I guess they would HAVE TO be naturalized if they worked in U.S.?), but I would like to get that info. Any suggestions/direction on obtaining that info. would be appreciated. I believe they were Lutheran, Mary married a Catholic and later converted. God Bless,
Mary in Texas (hometown: Spokane, WA)

Joseph Boeckman is my great-great grandfather who imigrated from Germany around 1850. As far as I know Joseph had three boys, Herman, Frank and Joseph who is my great grandfather. Joseph settled in Westphalia, MO when he arrive in the US.

I would like to hear from you if any connection can be found between Frank and Joseph.
