I do have your grandparents in my database - but when you're from Wanatah all those names add up fast. Perhaps your Grandmother knew my family - the Broviak's on my Dad's side and Julius and Goldie Rosenbaum on my Mom's side.

Dear Jenni,

I just found your question in the internet.Although your question is 7 years old I hope you still have access to ancestry.

But to your question:-)
Behnke and Boehlke are different families. Is your Amalie born in 1823 and August in 1808? Are they from the Thorn region? If so we are relatives!
Hope to hear from you

Holger

Do not know if any of our Boehlke relatives are still in Germany or not. Most likely some are. Ludwick (Louis) Boehlke was born in Waklendow, Pommeranya, Germany. After marrying Christina Carolyn Wendt in 1859 they resided in Oldenburg, which was southwest of Hamburg. The family emigrated to America on the 1st of May of 1868. They had
seven children, three of whom were born in Germany.

They made their home in Minnesota, first in Waverly then in the Marysville Township. Members of the Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, Minnesota.

Please let me know if this helps.

I am not able to get beyond Ludwig Boehlke so far. He was born on March 18, 1836, in Walkendow, Pommeranya, Germany; married Christina Carolyn Wendt in 1859 in Germany. They lived in Oldenburg, southwest of Hamburg in Germany, coming to America on May 1, 1868, on the Prinz Albert to New York City. Three of their children were born to them in Germany: John, Marie, and Fredrick. Wilhelmina G. (Minnie), Anna Caroline Louise, Caroline, and Bertha were born in America.

Christina's father and brother also sailed to America with them.

They lived in Waverly, Minnesota, for 9 years and then moved on a farm in the Marysville Township, west of Waverly, which he purchased on April 29, 1875. He resided there for over 40 years.

Would be very interested in learned more about the Boehlke family in Germany, etc.
My e-mail address is nlkreger@msn.com

Boehlke Surname

I know this is probably a long shot, but I am researching the Boehlke surname in relationship to my g-g-grandmother Bertha Caroline Henriette Boehlke born 1861 in Labaun, Stolp, Pommern. She married August Zessin in 1879 and went to the US in 1884. They resided in Michigan until their deaths. Bertha has one known sister, Louise b. 1864 and d. 1958. This sister remained in Germany her entire life. Bertha's mother was a Karoline (Borks?) Boehlke and her father's name is unknown to me. I am searching for anyone with any information on this family name.

Hi I may have all the information you are looking for. I have family information on a Reinhold Boehlke. ( Different spelling on first name). He was born in Germany and married Adelaide Gaul. They had a daughter Adeline born in Russia. They then immigrated to the U.S. where four more children were born. Carl, Henry, William. and Albert. They then moved to Wisconsin. A daughter, Alma was born there. Adelaide then died. After a year or two the family again moved to North Dakota leaving Albert in Wisconsin. Here Rienhold married Whilhelmine Marcus. They then had a family of nine. This is part of my family line. If this sounds like the right Reinhold please e-mail me. I have lots of other family information including dates of births and deaths.
Michelle

boehlke's

I would be very interested when and if you build a Boehlke Website in the future. I am a decendant of a Johann Ludwig Boehlke as well. My Johann Ludwig was the husband of Dorothea sophia Maria Schmidt. Their children were Carl Wilhelm Herman Boehlke and Elnora Boehlke. Carl was generally known as Herman and Elnora became the wife of Wilhelm Sauer II. The family settled in Oak creek Wisconsin between 1855-1861, later moved to Prairie du Chein, WI. Johann Ludwig died in Prairie du Chein in 1867 at the age of 70 where he is buried in the Lowertown (Evergreen) Cemetery. I would be interested in corresponding with anyone with any possible connection.
I would certainly be interested in any work on a Boehlke Website.

Brad:
It is certainly possible. I don't have any information on the Schmidt line. Dorothea Sophia Maria Schmidt was my great-great grandmother and came to WI, USA from Prussia in about 1860, She was born abt. 1814 in Germany. That's all the info I have so far on her. When they first arrived they lived in Oak Creek, WI, but moved to Prairie du Chein, WI around 1969.

I am looking for Details on a Rheinhardt Boehlke and your posting is of interest. Rheinhardt supposedly came over from Prussia in the late 1800's. He had several children with a woman by the name of Adelaide - - Alma, Lena, Albert are the ones I can recall. Alma, for sure, was born in Waupaca county, WI.

The things that of interest to me is that Albert was raised by by some Schmidts which he was related to. I'm wondering if there's some sort of connection with the Schmidt's that you mention being married to a Boehlke.

Brad
bcarley@gte.net

She married Frederick Syring in 1880. This may not be a match up but I was hoping maybe so. Maybe one of us could have a date wrong or some info wrong. I just hope maybe

There is a club in Germantown Wisconsin that is led by LeRoy Boehlke, he is also listed on the internet, he will also help you. I hope to build a web site for all Boehlkes of the U.S. My family came hear in 1851 and went to Milwaukee. His name was Carl Ludwig boehlke and his wife was Carolina Schulz from Kahlen Pomm.
