Rose Margaret Micek, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Schmitz) Boesch was born on June 19, 1910 at Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed and a lifelong member at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Rose attended school at St. Anthony’s Catholic School.
On September 2, 1941 Rose was united in marriage to Thomas E. Micek at St. Anthony’s in Cedar Rapids. They lived in Cedar Rapids their married life except for a few years while Thomas was in the military. Rose was a homemaker and also worked at Bethsceider’s Market in Cedar for 25 years. She lived at her home until February 23, 2005 when she moved to Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward. It was there that she passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2005 at 95 years of age.
She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Cedar Rapids.
Rose is survived by her sister Henrietta Kleffner of Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas in 1989, 5 brothers: Joe, Anthony, Lawrence, Conrad, and Leo Boesch, and 1 sister Catherine Ritzdorf.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids with Fr. Ralph Steffensmeier officiating. Burial will be at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Levander Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids with Rosaries at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
