Richard F. "Dick" Boesch, Sr., age 87,
son of the late Jacob and Helen Boesch,
passed away Friday, December 23, 2011,
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Florence Razanauskas Boesh;
and his daughter, Kathleen A. Dwyer, then wife of now retired District Justice James J. Dwyer III of Waterford; and his brother, James Boesch. He is survived by his two sons, Joseph M. Boesch DDS and his wife, Beatriz Dianderas Boesch of North Potomac, Md., and Richard F. Boesch, Jr. and his wife, Jo Marie Krivonak Boesch of Girard, Pa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Melissa Dwyer Covert and her husband, Marty of Cornelius, N.C., James J. Dwyer, IV and his wife, Rhonda of Waterford, and Austin and Spencer Boesch of Girard; and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Dick attended St. John Grade School, Cathedral Prep, and Academy High School before being drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed at Ft. Myer in Washington D.C., where he served his country before his discharge in 1946. He attained his pilot's license in 1948/1949. Dick worked at Weil McLean before becoming a salesman for Sealtest Dairy and then Meadow Brook Dairy for most of his career. After retiring from Meadow Brook Dairy, he worked for Proctor & Gamble Grocery Division and then for PNC Bank as a courier. He was Judge of Elections for the 5th Ward for many years. He was a member of St. Luke Church and served as an Usher. He enjoyed dancing, college and professional football, and deer hunting. Dick was an avid golfer. Friends may call at the Mark G. Razanauskas Funeral Home, 701 East Ave., Erie, Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be conducted Wednesday morning at 9:20 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lakeland Hospice.
