Isaac and Easter [Esther, Hester] Farrar Bogan

Surnames: Bogan, Farrar
Okay, I am t-totally confused! I have been doing some confirmation research to back-up things that I have researched about the Bogans. I am starting to find a lot of information that says that Easter [Esther, Hester] Farrar, wife of Isaac Bogan, was NOT the daughter of Thomas Farrar and Elizabeth Howard, but the daughter of James McElroy. This is supposedly proven in McElroy’s will. If this is true, it blows about ten years of research out of the water. Does anyone have any absolutely correct information on this subject either way? Moreover, if it is true, how could I have been following the wrong information for so many years? This is very discouraging.
