hello all bogards. and there are so many of us scattered about. this has been quite an adventure, all this research. my immediate family is quite small. however I do have some interesting facts and big questions!!
okay, lets see if I can get this correct:
my paternal grandparents were:
Donald H. Bogard, b.1909 (twin), m.Viola King, two sons
his parents I believe are:
Levi Bogard, b. 1865, Mary Davis, b. 1877
his parents were...maybe...
Levi Bogard, b.1840, Addie May Boyll
and as far as I have been able to reach is his parents....
Levi Bogard, b. 1796, Susan Hoopengarner, b. 1799
So does any one have anything to add or change? I welcome any input. Levi goes way back, until my grandfathers line, however he was the only surviving male, not sure if there are decease males, unaccounted for. Last year I was doing some research at our local Highland games, researching my Irish roots, and asked about the Bogard line, he said the Bogard line is traceable to like 395 bc or something of the sort.
I have heard rumors from elder family members, that there is Cherrokee in the line, however I am not finding it, we kids were always told we were partially American Indian, any clues. I have run across a few pieces of info posted by several different lines, connecting the to two is proving a struggle. I was also told we were of French descent....this obviously traces way back. All the person listed above resided in Vigo, Honey Creek, Terre Haute, IN areas.
Please contact me at
