TThere has to be someone out there that has info on this line!!!!! Brasillier Bogard 1750-abt 1806 From NY, NJ, Pa, New Madrid, Mo. NC and then finally MOntgomery Co., and Stewart Co., Tn. and who was the Grandson of Cornelius and Cornelia Delameter Bogeart who's family is from Holland has been such a mytery. We know he existed. There are his descendants and enough documentation to be certain of it, but still there are so many questions unanswered about this ancestor. Such a puzzle! We know he purchased land in Montgomery Co., Tn in 1790 and his wife was known as Hettie and he had three son's William, Joseph and Charles Bogard.
I've been told there was a big scandal in the family that involved land appraisesals and sales of land that was in Indian territory in the 1700's that some of the Bogeart/Bogart/Bogard family were involved in that turned out to be something they were cleared of any wrong doing, but it dragged their name in the mudd before it was all cleared up.
I'm guessing maybe this is why he may be such a mystery. Possibly he was involved in this scandal and changed his name or spelling of it to hide his identity to protect his family. (My opinion, I'm just saying.....???!!!) It seems there should be more info with so many of his descendants researching him that this mystery should have been solved years ago. I wish someone who has some information or knowledge on this branch would share what they know. Any little lead may help to solve this mystery.
