vanden Bogaard (various spellings) and Verhoeven families in / near Brown Co, WI

Looking for any Verhoeven's or Bogard's who lived / still live in the Brown or Outagamie County areas. We descend from Albert Vanden Bogaard (various spellings) and Wilhelmina Verhoeven. 3 of their children left Wisconsin and settled in Larimer County, Colorado around 1902+-.

We know very little about the earlier generations or those who stayed in the Depere / Brown Co. area. Both families originated in Uden, Noord Brabant, Netherlands.

Would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about these families.

Thanks for posting the Bogard/Petty conection. Since I am a direct decendent of Cornelius this was a very valuable bit of information.

I have traced my family of Bogards back to the year 1630. One of my direct ancestors was Cornelius Corneliszen-Bogaert who was born in the Netherland in 1630 and died on July 28, 1665 in Albany, NY. He had a son whose name is shown as Cornelius Bogaert who lived in New York from 1664 to 1751 and he had a son who lived from 1700 to 1778 whose name was Gysbert Bogard (the first one I have found to use the Bogard spelling).

I hope this helps you. I read several years ago that all of the Bogards or Bogarts in the US are related if you go back far enough. I don't know if there is any truth in that or not.

I have found some additional information on the Bogards and based on the information I read in an old family bible a few years ago, I believe that most of it is accurate.

Cornelius Bogard (who was my great-great-grandfather)died on April 2,1917 in Avoca, Cass County, NE. His father was Gasper or Gaspar (it is spelled both ways in the family bible) Bogard who died on Dec 13, 1890 in Forest Home, Powesheik, IA. His father was Cornelius Bogard who died in Jefferson, Ross County, OH in 1814. The father of that Cornelius was also Cornelius Bogard who died in 1800 at Jefferson, Ross County, OH. Then his father was Gysbert Bogard who died on May 1, 1778 at Hampshire, VA. The father of Gysbert was Cornelius Bogaert who died in 1751 in Coxsachie, Greene, NY and his father was Cornelius Corneliszen-Bogaert who was born in the Netherlands in 1630 and died July 28, 1665 in Albany, NY. I do not have an exact burial location for any but the most recent generations.

There are so many with the name Cornelius that it is difficult to keep track of them.

Glad to hear from a Bogard cousin. Your Great Grandpa, according to the post by Anitah529, was Wilson Boyd Bogard.

If you do not go further back than Wilson Boyd Bogard, I have some genealogy information for your line. Wilson Boyd Bogard's father was--John George Bogard, born in 1850 and died in 1918. John G Bogard is buried in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant , Ms., which is about 25-30 miles south of Memphis, Tn.

John G Bogard had a sister named Celica Jan Bogard, b. in 1848, However I do not have any further information on Celica Jane.

John George Bogard's father was Edward Hudson Bogard, born 15 Dec. 1823 in Maury County, Tn. and died 21 Feb. 1892 in Abbeville, Lafayette Co., Ms. and Edward's father was John Johnson Bogard, born 1798 in Barren Co., Ky.

John Johnson Bogard was a brother to my Great Great Grandfather (James M Bogard 1792-1857)

I have more genealogy data on this line all the way back to 1535 in Holland..

Hi Matt: I was just looking at the Bogard listings on this website because that was my maiden name. I ran across this posting from you back in 2002. Your Grandpa is my uncle. My dad was his brother John Richard Bogard. He helped your Grandpa build their first house in Long Beach. We use to go and visit them often. Your Great Grandma was Johnnie Evelyn Ashford and your Great Grandpa was Wilson Boyd Bogard both from Mississippi. Hope this will help you on your search.

Donald Bogaard

I am searching for any information on a Donald Bogaard who lived in Denver in 1951 and would have had a brief marriage with my mother, Jo Ann Drollinger. This marriage produced 2 children, a boy named Bruce and a girl, whose name I think was Kathleen.
My mother passed away and the purpose for trying to locate Donald or those children is to relay the health issues that were the cause of death for my mother.
