I don't know if you found info on your
request concerning Jan Laurens Bogaert
who settled in Harlem. He came over on
the Bonte Con (The Spotted Cow) from
Amsterdam that sailed on April 16, 1663
accompanied by his wife Corneila Everts
and their two young sons, Gysbert and
Pieter. He had ten children. Settled
in New Haarlem and was a magistrate and
beloved member of the community. He sold
his farm in 1706 settled in Lower
Manhattan where he died two years later.
My ancestor was Tunis Gysbert Bogaert and was his first cousin. Evidently, the story goes that the two cousins and two other cousins were raised by their Grandfather in Holland. A noted ancestor the subject of Rembrandt's The Goldsmith.
Hope this was of help.
For further information, find John Bogart's book on the Bogart family.
