Eileen,
Have you seen this 1910 census:
New Haven, New Haven Co., CT; ED 389, Ward 4, Sheet 14A:
94 Washington Avenue - a multiple family home, but one of the families is Emil Wolfovich, 39, m17 years, b. Russia (Yiddish); emig 1902, tailor, men's clothing...
Kate, wife, 40, 4 births, 4 living; b. Russia (Yiddish) emig 1902
(children Hanry, Clara, Morris, Alex); also living with them:
Singer, Annie, mother-in-law, 86, widowed; 7 births, 5 living; b. Russia (Yiddish) emig 1906
Bogadanoff, Morris, either brother or boarder (I thought brother), 18, single, b. Russia (Yiddish); emig 1905, apprentice tailor.
What also strikes me about this page (and is of interest to me) is that next door is an ALPERT family, also Russian Jews-- looks like a widowed mother and two sons, one of whom is married. Alpert is very closer to ALPER (the surname of my Benjamin's wife, Leah...) This ALPERT family emigrated in 1895.
