Classification: Query
Surnames: BOGGS, RATHBUN, RUGGLES, LARKHOM
I’m cross-posting this in both the name and locality forums.
Edwin BOGGS RATHBUN (1848-1914) and George BOGGS RUGGLES were brothers who were both adopted in 1856 and assumed the surname of their adoptive relatives. Both were born in Bazetta, Cuyahoga Co., OH. Edwin is my gg-grandfather and was adopted by John P. and Cordelia (LARKHOM) RATHBUN. Both boys settled with their adoptive families in Osborn Co., KS in about 1872.
In an effort to track down their parents, I am wondering if any of you have a record of a BOGGS couple in Cuyahoga County, OH that may have left their children orphaned around 1856. Census records indicate that both parents were born in England.
Please contact me or post here if you can help me past this brick wall. Thank you!
