      <description>Adele Bogy "Dell" Smith, 95, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Friday, September 7, 2007, in Heber Springs, Ark. Funeral services for Dell will be 11 a.m. Tuesday September 11, 2007, at Ralph Robinson &amp;amp; Son Chapel in Pine Bluff with Rev. Dennis Ritchie, First Presbyterian Church, Claremore, Okla., officating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Annex Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday 4-6 p.m.&lt;br&gt;Dell was a descendant of Francios Bogy and Denice Mercier who came as indentrued servants to Canada in 1641. Her great-great-grandparents, Joseph and Marie Louisa DuGuay Bogy, came to Arkansas Post in 1787 to operate a trading post. Born on April 5, 1912, in Wabbaseka, Ark., she was the daughter of Phillip Beauregard Bogy and his wife Dora Lytle McCall Bogy. She was the youngest child of this union. When Dell was six months old, her mother died and she was reared by her elder sister. She received her early education at Wabbaseka-Bogy school in Jefferson County. On June 2, 1928, at the age of 16, Dell married Aubery Clinton Smith, and they made their home in Pine Bluff, Ark.&lt;br&gt;Not having a mother left an impact on Dell that caused her to become the axis of her family and community. Providing the equipment and space to play, her home was the gathering point for local children of all ages. She taught a Sunday School class at Second Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and was called "Aunt Dell" by most of the young people in her community. Dell was a charter member of the church and also served on the session.&lt;br&gt;Upon the death of her husband, in 1958, Dell returned to school to become a licensed practical nurse. upon receiving her degree she worked in the office of her son, Dr. Charles Smith, and later at Davis and Jefferson Hospitals. Dell enjoyed gardening and canning tomatoes. She also enjoyed sewing, making quilts and clothing for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and attending the family Bogy reunions that are held every year in Pine Bluff. She was known as "Nan" to her grandchildren. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). In 1997, Dell moved to Claremore, Okla., where she lived for seven years. She remained active gardening, walking everyday, and attending church at First Presbyterian church. In 2004 she moved to Heber Srings. &lt;br&gt;Dell was preceded in death by her husband, Aubery; daughter, Audery Adele Smith in 1933; parents; and siblings; Ernest Bogy, Charles Bogy, Elizabeth Bogy, Corralie Walt Bogy Fowler, McCoy Bogy, Alonzo Beauregard Bogy, Liorena Mae Bogy Simpson, and Jesse Core Bogy.&lt;br&gt;She is survived by her children; Dr. Aubery Charles Smith and wife Amata of North Little Rock, Ark., James Tandy Smith and wife Cindy of claremore, Okla., and Peggye Smith Huddleston of Heber Springs, Ark.; grandchildren; James Charles Morris of Panama City, Fla., Audrey Denise Morris Cummings of Bogalusa, La., Lisa Kay Smith Hum of &lt;br&gt;conwya, ark., Tandy Lynn Smith Miller of Little Rock, Ark., Aubrey Charles Smith Jr., of Conway, Ark.,Amy Smith Palva of Tulsa, Okla., Clinton Paul Smith of Austin, Texas, Kelly Gunn Ward of Little Rock, Ark., and Justin F. Gunn of Flower Mound, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren; tow great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
