Wow! I just found your note that was written in 2006. Sorry that I have been so slow.

I do have information on Mary Ann Bogner. And yes she was married twice-F. Schmidtt-they had a son, Louis born in 1855 and she married W. Knecht in Oct. 28, 1889 in Henry, Il. They had nine children the 4th child was born in OK in 1894.

Mary's father and my great grandfather are the same person! I have done a lot of work on the Bogner family and have them traced back to the 1600's.

I would like to hear from you and would love to be able to provide you with further information. Please contact me at bognernf@comcast.net.

Looking forward to hearing from you..Again SORRY!

Neil F. Bogner
715 Maiden Choice Ln.
HV 222
Catonsville, MD 21228

I just saw your message concerning acquiring info on the Bogner family from Missouri/Nebraska. I actually have a copy of a book on that family (Johann Baptist Bogner family) that you would be interested in. If you e-mail back, I can arrange to send you a copy of it. It has alot of info and pictures. My mother is a Bogner descendent.

Yes, my George was married to Barbara Reimer. George's parents were J. George Bogner and Elisabet Souradny. J. George Bogner's parents were G. Peter Bogner and Katherina Reimer.

I am George's 2nd Great-Grandson. Lenoard (20 Jan. 1911 - 08 June 1991) was George's Grandson. I am Frank Joseph Bogner's (1 April 1875 - 1 November 1949) Great-Grandson, his son Joseph Bogner's (Leonard's brother)grandson.

I hope this makes sense and that it is of assistance. If these are the people you are searching for, I would be pleased to share any information I have.

Ed Chapmnan, III

My line is from Leonard Bogner born 1824, Germany and wife Maria Bedel. They came to Indiana and stayed. Most of their children later moved on to Kansas. However, a son Julius John Bogner born 1867 Indiana, moved to Van Buren Twp, Jackson Co., MO. and was there on the 1900-1930 censuses. He was still there per a sis' obit in 1941 but at Rich Hill, MO. I am trying to see if there is a connection between Leonard and Christopher's families, or maybe the Missouri connection is a coincidence. While names are fairly common there are some similarities which may mean a connection as well. While researching Bogner's I have come across a lot of Bogners in Indiana and Missouri and I am trying to sort them out. Can you help?

I have no info on George born 1 Mar 1860 in Indiana. I have him dying and buried in York Twp. Dearborn Co. Indiana. Did your George live in Kansas?
Who are your George's parents? Many of Leonard's descendants are in Kansas, so we just need to determine who his parents are.

Hello Wendell.....
I read with interest your posting....you say that you are descended from A Jacob and John. My line is, from my Grandpa - William, John, Antoine/Anton, Jean-Jacques

Antoine was from the Bas-Rhin region of France. He immigrated to the US around 1842, coming to the Seneca County, OHIO area at that time. I noticed that your people also came to Ohio, altho much later. Makes me wonder if they were in contact with relatives in the area, that they chose Dayton?? Hoping I can find some other 'relatives' to possibly share/exchange info.
Thanks
Joyce Bogner-VanderVere

Good to hear from you! I have just returned from a research trip to Salt Lake City followed by a week updating notes. While I wasn't able to prepare well for the trip, working on updating my notes is helping. I did not research the Bogner line this time, however, I believe I have the correct Leonhard and Margaretha Bogner as the parents and have immigration information I want to verify that I located online.
I will finish going through my notes on the Bogners and I will be in touch. However, mostly I have been gathering info on censuses, marriages etc on Mike's siblings including my line through Mary Bogner. You probably have more than I do? I will finish updating the Bogners and contact you then, OK. Thanks, Karen

Joan,

I'm sorry that I did not reply to your earlier message. Not sure that I ever got it!

I have a lot of data on Ferdinand Bogner. Yes he had 2 wives and a lot of children.

What suprises me is that I did not know of a Sebastian Bogner. The records I reviewed included a sister and, in addition to Ferdinand, a brother, Ludwig. Ludwig was my great grandfather.

Some years ago I made contact with a couple of descendents of Ferdinand in the Rochester area. These were from his second wife. What always interested me was the descendents of Ferdinand's first family. I was never able to get any connection. What little I have shows that his wife's name was Keiffer. And that there were at least 4 children. A Louis, Louise and Mary are the only children names that I located.

I am still interested in adding to that family.

Thank you

I'm sorry for being so slow in responding but I just now read your note.

I have the ancestors of Ferdinand Bogner back at least 2 generations and perhaps even more.

The information on his descendants is somewhat more complete.

I made contact with a couple of the living descendants.

Most of my work deals with Ferdinand's brother Ludwig Bogner who was my great grandfather.

Please email me and I will be happy to provide any information that you can use.

Neil

Researching Bogner's in Missouri and Nebraska

I have been researching the family of Christopher and Ann Margaretha 'Zeilmann/Zalmann' Bogner. They are shown in the 1850, 1860, and 1870 census in Missouri, Osage County, Washington Township. Most of the family appears to have moved to Nebraksa, Colfax County in 1880. Their childrens names and ages are confusing and would like some help in sorting them out. It appears Ann Margaretha died between 1865 and 1870. Some of the older children are George b. 1847, John b. 1848, Joseph b. 1850, Michael b. 1851, Frank Xavier b. 1852, and Aloys b. 1855. For the younger children's name I have Anna, Barbara, Anathus, Ignatz, another Anna and Gertrude.

Hello! As far I know, Anton/Antione had one other brother, Michel, born 1808, and a sister, Barbra, born 1810. Anton was born 1812....all were born in the Kaidenbourg area of France. There are several John's in my line. The closest one to your date is John H. Bogner, born abt. November 1888
in Ohio, son of Jacob Bogner and Magdelena unk. I have to wonder if your Bogner line is related, as they also came to
Ohio.....my Bogner's had HUGE families, being the good Catholics they were....:)and they were spread all around Ohio, but mainly in Seneca County and surrounding areas.
Have you checked out the R.B.Hayes Presidential library site? They have 1000's of obits.
They have a list of 144 Bogner obits from Ohio...I just ordered 4 of them today! Here is their link...

http://index.rbhayes.org/hayes/index/

Let me know what you think!
Joyce

Leonard and Margaret BOGNER

Need info on Leonard and Margaret BOGNER family. 1880 census, York, Dearborn Co. IN. Children are Martin, Julius, Antony, and Rosa. My ancestor Mary BOGNER had a sister Rosa who married a FORTNER. Also a brother Julius of Rich Hill, MO. later. There is another brother who I believe is the Mike BOGNER of Reno Co. KS 1920 census. Are there any descendants of these families out there who can confirm this and fill in some gaps?

Thank you for the reply. Do you have info on this family? Leonard Bogner and Margaret, his wife? I only hace them once they reached Indiana. Do you know Leonard or Margaret's parents names or info on where they came from? I have been trying to sort out this family in the census records with some difficulty. Do you have the names of the children and their spouse and children. Can you tell me where the fammilies went after they left Indiana? I don't know if they came from New York. However, the family is in Dearborn County, Indiana by 1870. I would appreciate any help. I am related through their daughter Mary Bogner who married Rudolph Vedder. This family ended up in Kansas.

I am going to jump into this Bogner board even though I have not seen any names that are familiar. Maybe someone will have some info. My grandmother was Emelia Frances Bogner who came to New York in Nov. 1903 with her brother Josef. They were from Pila, Austria. I do not know which Pila this is, as there are abt. 3 I think. She was German speaking. Her father was Paul & her mother Ernestine Pollack. These 2 joined their sister & bro in law in New York...Julia & Gabor Nemeth. Later they all migrated to San Francisco. Julia & Gabor returned to New York at some point & contact was lost between the families. Has anyone any clues or info to offer? My line is from John, their son, and his daughter, Clara. I have some interesting stories about her childhood and her grandparents she wrote back in the 60's. I even have a few pictures. I also have 2 generations back for most of the ancestors of Christopher and Margaret. I would love to share info if any are still interested. I guess we are fourth cousins???
Theresa

I have found that Margaret (Margrete) Bogner came to America from Bavaria, Germany in 1897 and was naturalized in 1899. She and Adolph Yeske had two children in Colorado before settling in Illinois. She moved to Detroit, Michigan between 1920 and 1930, after her husband died.

She was related to Harlan Bogner (possibly her nephew or a cousin) through Walter Bogner and Viola Langenstein. It looks like she may have also been related to a Valentine Bogner, who was a little more than a decade older than she was. I'm not sure if they're siblings or cousins.
