I am seeking information about Gideon Bohanan (born abt. 1776- died probably about early 1830). He was the son of Robert Bohannon (abt. 1733 in VA - 1784 NC) and Seleh (Celia ??), Gideon married Nancy Williams Oct. 2, 1808 in Jackson County, GA. (Nancy Williams was probably Choctaw.) Robert left a will and in it named his children. They are:
William Bohanan (1760- ) married Patsy Ivey on Sept. 23, 1807 in Jackson Co., GA.
Edward Bohanan (1762 - 1837 Calloway Co.,KY) married Celia Peacock.
Ale Bohanon (1766 - ) (female)
Kinchen Bohanan (1768 - 1835) married Dorothy (Dolly) Peacock.
Susannah (?Sookkee? in will) Bohanan married John Peacock, Jr.
Silvey Bohanan (1774 - ) married Sessom Blake.
Gideon Bohanan (1776 - bet.1827 and 1830) married Nancy Williams on Oct.2, 1808 in Jackson Co., GA
Sarah (?Saley? in will) Bohanan (1778 - ) married William Huckaby.

According to records I’ve located Gideon, Edward, and possibly William, who began a journey from Northwest Georgia, through Tennessee, to Southwestern Kentucky—Calloway County, KY. Apparently all of Edward’s children were born in GA by 1813, but at least 2 (Nancy b. abt. 1817 TN and Wm. G. b. abt. 1823 TN) of Gideon’s 9 (or more) children were born somewhere in TN. By 1830 the families are found in KY. Gideon’s wife Nancy is a widow with 8 boys between the ages of 0 and 15 in her household. Widow Nancy married Spirus Roach in 1832 and they receive Mississippi (Choctaw) land grants in 1837.

Three of Edward Bohannon’s daughters have marriage records in Calloway Co., KY, as do John and William Bohannon.

In the early to mid 1840’s, Nancy Bohannon (daugh. Of Gideon and Nancy) has married Balam Farmer (and their children James, Henry, Seth, William, and Florilla) and William Green Bohannon (usually spelled Bohanning or Bohaning in AR) have relocated to Greene Co., AR. In AR the Farmer family has Mary, Jonathon S., and John Gideon born. William G. ‘s grandson later applies to the Dawes commission on his Indian heritage, but is denied because all direct descendants have died, but he knew of connections to the Mississippi Chowtaws.

If anyone has ANY information, I would greatly appreciate it, as I seem to have hit a major brick wall!! I would especially like info about any of Gideon’s other children’s name. I also wonder if his brother William (or William's son) made the journey with Edward and Gideon because in 1830 Calloway Co., KY there is another William Bohannon family made up of 2 males ages 5-9, 1 male age 10-14, 1 male age 15-19, 1 male age 30-30, and 1 male 50-59, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5-9, 2 females 10-14, 1 female 15-19, and 1 female 30-39. I’m also wondering if this is the William Bohannon that shows up in the Choctaw nation. The Bohannons I've mentioned were all in Calloway Co., KY in the 1830s and early 1840s, but all must leave, because one kind person there did some lookups for me and did not find any cemetery listings for Bohannons by any spelling. If you even think you have info, I would like to hear from you.
