Dear Mary Ann,
Sorry it has taken me this long to discover you had sent me a message on July 29th. I would be very much interested in any information you could share with me in regard to my great grandfather, Jacob Klohr, who came from the area of Gimmeldingen, Germany and settled near New Hanover, IL.where he married Margaret Mueller Bohlmann. My grandfather's name was George Klohr who married Caroline Stumpf and my father's name is Herman Klohr. I have never been able to find out Jacob Klohr's parents name as well as if he had any brothers or sisters. I believe he came over from Germany by himself and probably landed in New Orleans. Jacob's birthdate was March 15, 1824. Jacob and Margaret were married in Millstadt, IL. on Dec. 9, 1855. My grandfather, George Klohr and his wife Caroline had 12 children. I have just recently become interested in tracing my relatives. My husband, Lee, and I reside in Sparta, IL. We're retired and have 4 children. Dr. Lori Trost Siemers, a dentist, in Columbia, IL., Dr. John Trost, a surgeon in Springfield, IL.,Amy Trost McClure, an interior design major and lives in Wildwood, Mo., and Mark Trost, a pilot for Delta Airlines who resides in Millstadt, IL. Hoping to hear from you soon, and I will try to check my message board more often. Shirley Klohr Trost.,
