I appreciate your help, from what I can gather he and his wife stayed in Quebec, but my great grandfather Francois and his wife Marquerite Tessier Boisclair lived in Embrum, Ontario.
The family says that this line of Boisclair's came from the Alsace/Lorraine area of France but can't verify that information.
It is a possibility that your Pierre in some way may be connected. I found 2 J. Bte. Boisclair in the census records, one lived near Montreal an was a chef and the other near Chateaugay, Quebec not sure what his occ. was. J. Bte. Boisclair birthday I'm not sure but would be around the 1830's or 1840's. Thank you again. Carole
