new to searching this family, my granddaughter's father is from this line/ his name is james, his father is David, and his father mentioned by another researcher as Irvin, and his father as Elmer.

At my web-site you will find what I called: The Boye Dynasti and in that story is mentioned that a Christoffer Boye went to America. You can read this here: http://www.teilbaek.dk/boye.htm

I have a lot of the Boye's in my database and my Aunt was born to Jensine Boye, and she lives in Seattle Wa.

My grandfather came from Schlawe, Prussia in 1856. He lost track of his family. His name was Christian Frederick Boje or Boye. Does anyone in the attached photo look like anyone in your family? Thanks, Jan Boyee-Stevens

There was a mistake in the classification for my message, it should be "obituary" and not "query".

I'm not related to Klara Boie, I didn't know her or her family.

In former times family names wasn't fixed as today. So a man could be born as Boje, married as Boie and died as Boye!

The German phone books shows Boje in Bremen and Boyé in Baden-Baden.

I am not sure but since another relative came a few years later through Bremen, I would assume there first.

What was your connection with this Klara Boie then? I have found Boje spelled variously as Boje, Boie and Boye.

Sorry, I do not have Boje ancestors! Did your family came from Baden near Bremen or from Baden in Southern Germany?

I am seeking connections to this man who came to the US in 1891 with his wife Anna Ellermann and daughter Helen.

They settled in St. Louis and lived some 10 years also in Beardstown, Illinois.

I hope you can read English as my German is bad. My ancestor, Johann August Boje, came to the US in 1891. Some 30 years later his youngest daughter remembers a Klara coming from "the old country" to visit them. I do not know if this Klara was a Boje or not.

Johann was born in June 1864 in Baden. His father was said to be August Boje. Do these names fit in your family?

looking for information on Christopher Coist Boje, b1839 Hosstein Germany married Elvina Fritz or Fritsgerald, b1848, Prussia. Had 5 children Henry Boje-b1866 Illinois, Mary Molly Carighan-b1869 Illinois, Etta May Magner-1871, Iona Craig-b1878, and Will boje-b1880. They moved to Galesburg Kansas in the early 1870 where they are all buried.
