HICKORY - Willie Mae Hollar Bolch, 96, of Hickory, passed away Sunday morning, March 30, 2008, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley after several years of declining health and a critical illness of several days. She was born in Catawba County on April 24, 1911, the daughter of the late Lonnie E. and Ina Lail Hollar. She was a faithful member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. She retired from Whisnant Hosiery Mill, Nellie Bee Products and the cafeteria of St. Stephens Elementary School. In addition to her parents, Willie was preceded in death by her husband, Hazel J. Bolch; brothers, Fred Hollar, Array Hollar, Cecil Hollar, Harold Hollar and Howard Hollar; and sisters, Ethel Younce and Merlie Eckard. She is survived by daughters, Janie Fox of Saginaw, Texas, Elizabeth Hobbs and her husband, Herb, of Long View and Karen Teed of Hickory; a son, Marion Bolch and his wife, Mary, of Hickory; a sister, Thelma Snipes of Golf, Ill.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, with the Rev. David Guelzow officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, from noon to 12:45 p.m. at the church.
