Wow thanks for that Jackie I had almost given up finding out if it was true that he served in India. I couldn't find him in the british 1901 census so now I know why. I knew Samuel served in the Duke of Cornwalls light infantry and that he was in world war 1 but that was all. I really know so little about my fathers side of the family but slowly with the help of a lot of people things are falling into place.
