Hey Bolden's of D.C., I found an interesting tidbit that may interest your family, there was a Bolden man written about in Washington D.C., during the Madison Administration, the War of 1812, an African American man with the last name Bolden drove Dolly Madison away, from the White House, during the burning of the City. I found this information in a book about Paul Jennings, a Madison slave, that I recently read. You may want to contact the author of the book to see if she has any more information on this man. Since your family roots are so deep in D.C. and trail back to Virginia, I think there may be a connection. I will try to contact her as well. The name of the book is A Slave in the White House by Elizabeth Dowling.
