Hello, my husband's great grandmother was Mary Regina Bolender who married Matthias Joseph Mertes in 1887 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She was first married to a Meyer. Mary was born 6 Jan 1844 in New York, but possibly Germany. She died 7 Jul 1907 in Fond du Lac. Her parents were Frank Bolender (b. abt 1804) and Geneveva Popert or Velander Baxbery, who could be the same people (b. abt 1813). Both were born in Prussia, probably. They had three known children, my husband's great grandmother Mary Regina, Louis Bolender (b. 5 Apr 1850 in the Atlantic Ocean, d. 4 Sep 1899 in Oak Creek, Wisconsin) who married Helen Schmitt in 1873 (b. 1852 in Wisconsin, d. 1940), and Caroline who married Henry Stevens in 1876.
