Around 1854 a young German woman and her two small sons arrived in New York City, unable to care for her sons, they were abandoned and their care was assumed by the city authorities. The two boys were separated, never to see or hear from each other again.
One of the boy’s names was William Joseph Boler (b.1948-d.1926). He was raised in Indiana and then moved to Kansas, but his brother or mother could have ended up anywhere in the country. If you are researching a Boler family that came from Germany to New York around 1854 with a similar story I would really appreciate you contacting me. I would even appreciate if you only have information on a Boler starting out in America during that time period. This mystery has been unsolved for my family for over 150 years. Maybe your clue could help me solve it. Thanks very much
