Does anybody know if there is a DNA project for the Bolick or Hollar families?
As many of you know, DNA testing in genealogy has become quite popular. Drawbacks are that testing is expensive and unless others have submitted samples, there is nobody to compare your test results with.
Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation (SMGF) is collecting DNA samples and putting the results on line. Free DNA kits can be requested.

At this time they have searchable databases for Y-chromosome DNA (male to male) and Mitochondrial DNA (female to female). In the future they will have a searchable Autosomal DNA database. This DNA shows the relationships between males and females.
I recently gave a DNA sample to SMGF for a (Low German Mennonites) group study. Only my paternal line is part of the previous group so it will be several years before they will be able to compare my DNA with my father’s ancestors with their Autosomal database.
My maternal line is Nancy E. Bolick (1869-1943), Mary Mahala Hollar (1844-1936), Elizabeth Bolick (1820-1903), etc.
Thanks,
Ginny
