Yes, I have Margarette Peggy Bolin; now I see where Blalock comes into the picture (that surname shows up nearby in most census where I find my relatives). In 1840 census White, TN I find Wm Bolin with 1 boy 5-10, 1 15-20, 2 20-30, 1 50-60; girls: 3 <5, 2 5-10, 1 10-15, 1 20-30, 1 40-50. The next family is John G Lewis: 2 boys <5, 1 20-30, girls: 2 <5, 1 20-30.

I have a list of Wm & Rebecca Bolin's children, but have not proved all yet. The same with the Wyatt's, thanks for info on Ezylphia....also Norris connections.

Now I have more to add to my tree; your explanation of the relationships is very helpful. Willing to share all that I have found, have you viewed my tree? Josephine

I believe this William Bolin (1785 NC)to also be the father of Margarette (1811-1814 NC) who md. abt 1835 John G. Lewis.
Before her marriage to Mr Lewis she had a dau., Harriet Elvira (1832 TN) who md. Anderson E. Blalock (1817-1896). Their dau., Ruth Elizabeth (1863 TN) md. Simon "Si" Frasier(1860)and thier dau., Eliza Jane (1881 TN), md. Wm "Billy" Norris (1870 TN). Eliza was a niece to Billy Norris' first wife, Violet Hester (1874-1906 TN), who was also the dau of Anderson E. and Harriet E. (Bolin) Blalock.
Ezylphia Wyatt (1825-1927) I believe to be the dau. of John Wyatt (1772-1869) and Sarah Trembell (1777-1856),the sister of Kinzey, and the wife of Richard L. Flynn (1825-1905). Richard and Ezylphia (Wyatt)Flynn's daughter, Elizabeth (1850-1891), is the wife of Patrick "Henry" Norris (1845-1908)and mother of William "Billy" Norris.
Patrick Henry Norris is the son of ? and Mary Norris (abt. 1825-aft 1910 Cumberland Co., TN.)
Patrick Henry Norris was the only child of Mary Norris who married aft. 1860 John Hahn (1813 England-bef. 1880 Cumberland Co., TN). I believe her to be the daughter of James Norris (1803 SC)
Mr. Hahn, Mary Norris Hahn, Hester Blalock Norris, unnamed child of Hester and "Billy" Norris, Patrick Henry Norris, and others from this family are among those buried at Flynn's Cove, Cumberland Co., TN.

HI Carol

I think I have the William Bolin in your posting.

He is the grandson of Samuel Bolin, Samuel is 5 generations

back in my line. I have his wife as Catherine Williamson,

and no other info on her family. I would be glad to share

what I have on the Bolin line. Perhaps I could learn more

on his wife as well.

tonybolin@hotmail.com

My Wm Bolin b 1824 TN appears on same census, 2 families down. I beleive him to be the son of your Wm Bolin. There are many more related families in same census very close to one another. Kinzy Wyatt (family 649 same census) is Wm Kinzey Wyatt b1813 TN m Malinda Stewart b1812 TN; her mother Elizabeth (Norris) Stewart b1770 VA is listed in same household. I'm stuck trying to find her parents. We seem to have many relatives in common & can probably help one another greatly.

Josephine Hamilton

My children's grandfather was Clarence V. Bolin Born 12 Nov 1891 in Kentucky and he died on 3 Jun 1923. According to his death certificate his father was William Bolin and his mother was Mary E. Urban.

William was born in Cicero Indiana 28 Feb. 1856 and died 11Jan1820 in Cicero, Hamilton county Indiana. I have William Bolin's death certificate and it states his father was George Bolin and George Bolin was born in Kentucky. It also says the maiden name of his mother was _____Comes and she was born in Kentucky.
Mary E. Bolin was the informant.
Some of the data if have received from the web leads me to believe George Bolin was born in 1837 in Kentucky and died 12July 1899. I cannot find his death certificate and I can't really tell you Comes was his wife's last name. Some sites has it as _____Combs.

James Bolin was listed on Nathan Bolin's military pension documents, and it was recently brought to my attention that Nathan was not the person who supplied that data, therefore, James as Nathan's father is suspect. Eli Bolin and Lucretia Goldsberry may have been Nathan's parents. What the family does know is thus> Nathan Coffman Bolin was born 03 Aug 1833, Union, Fayette Co. OH and the only Bolin family we can find in Fayette Co. OH is Eli Bolin's. Additionally another piece of the puzzle is Nathan's full name: Nathan Coffman Bolin. We tried for years to 'fit' the Coffman family with the Bolin family. Eli Bolin and the widow Jane Coffman are neighbors on the 1830 Fayette Co. OH census with her children, one of whom was her son Nathan Coffman who was b 1810 Fayette Co. OH. We believe Nathan Coffman Bolin was named for Nathan Coffman, son of Jacob Coffman and wife Jane.

Searching for the ancestors and siblings of Eli Bullin b abt 1782 VA and d aft 1860, Ross Co. OH. Eli Bullin m Lucretia Goldsberry 20 Sep 1816, Ross Co. OH. Lucretia Goldsberry d before 1849 Fayette Co. OH. Eli then married Permila/Malinda/Millie Mountjoy. She was b. c1803 VA, and was a widow of James English. Known Children of Lucretia Goldsberry and Eli Bolin are: William Perry who m Eliza Jane Powell; Cynthia who m Thomas English; Ellen/Eleanor who m “Andrews”; maybe Nathan; maybe Martha who m Isaac Johnson and Eli who m Minerva Unknown. Eli and Lucretia’s children were born in Fayette Co. There is a gap between 1817 and 1827 when William Perry Bolin was born, so it is likely there were older children born in this marriage. No children were born to Eli and Permila/Malinda/Millie. Any information on Eli Bullin/Bolin will be appreciated. Thank You.

Re: Looking for Bolin's from Newark, Sulphur Rock and Morefield Arkansas

I think you are looking for the same family as myself. My great great grandparents were Robert Horton Bolin and Octavia Lucern Metcalf through their son Robert Dorr Bolin. Robert Dorr was married to Elizabeth (Lizzie) Hensley. They had several children, but my mom connects through Robert Dorr daughter Ellawease Bolin Smith. Ellawease is my grandmother. There are other grandchildren of Robert Dorr and Lizzie that hope I can find more information. Any help would be wonderful. I tried emailing more details, but all the addresses from various posts were returned unknown.

Ashley Anderson Hooper

Mary b 1787 and Elizabeth b 1794 SC-1894 Ga, John b 1791NC. . There was two Shubals that I have found but can not connect, I am pretty sure He was connected to Lucertia again no proof.
Shubal b 1828 I show is Harbard Bolin son
Lucertia is idenified in a deed dated 13Sept 1832 filed 1847 Jesse left land to Abel. 1787Census showes Jesse Hurt lived next door to the Bolin family.
Rosa

Re: William, Charles and William Bolin - NC to Indiana

Jane,
I tried to reply to you by email, but maybe it was blocked. I am also researching the Bolins of Randolph & Montgomery, NC to Indiana. I am trying to sort out which ones are Group 5 DNA and which are Group 6. Both families lived near to one another, some moved to the same places and probably intermarried, too. Group 5 & Group 6 both are also in Blount & Sevier, TN and seem to have come from Randolph/Montgomery. This is a very confusing bunch of Bolins with 2 different families mixed together!

You asked about William Bolin in Benager Randall's will - Zelpha Randall married married a William Bolin on 14 Feb. 1839 in Owen Co., IN. That is after Benager's will though, so not sure why William would be in his will. I am very interested in hearing more about your line. I'm puzzled as I'm sure you are by the DNA test results. Which Bolin is your paternal line that the DNA should match?
Diane
