Geraldine M. Bolla
Geraldine M. Bolla, age 85,
a resident of St. Mary’s Home East passed away there Sunday July 20, 2008. She was born in Erie on January 29, 1923, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Flanagan Hammann. A lifelong resident of Erie, Geraldine was a 1940 graduate of Villa Maria Academy and a 1946 graduate of the St. Vincent School of Nursing. She had worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Health Center, and in 1983 retired from American Meter where she worked as a company nurse. She belonged to a “Nurse Club,” a group of ladies who met for over 56 years. She was also an Associate with the Sisters of Mercy. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard S. Bolla who died in 1982. Geraldine is survived by two sons; Atty Lawrence Bolla and his wife Carlene and Edward P. Bolla and his wife Linda, all of Erie along with two daughters; Mimi Tripodi and her husband Sal of Denver, Colo. and Ann Quinn and her husband Atty Jack Quinn of Erie. She is the grandmother of Daniel, Mary Jane, Ann, Patrick, and Alex Bolla; Francesca and Margaret Tripodi; and Jack and Kevin Quinn. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. Wednesday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. and are attend Prayer Services there Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. George Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Home East, 607 East 26th St., Erie, PA 16504.
