My great grandfather Antonio Garese left Italy at the age of 48 in 1901 with his wife Catterina age 36. Their Children Stefano 12, Pietro 4, Paolo 11, Giacomina 7. Bartolomeo 1. All showing their Residence Varazze which is just north of Genova on the coast. The port they left was Genoa (English spelling of Genova), Liguria Italy on the Nord American. Antonio was a sailer by trade. My grandfather was born in the United States in Alameda near San Francisco in 1903. US emigration records Ellis Island show three more Garese's that I do not know:

Francesco Garese 1914 at age 26 from Soveria Lim. Catanzaro

Carmine Garese 1896 age 20 Alexanople Italy

Raffaele Garese 1904 age unknown
I also found out that a branch of the Garese family left Italy in the 1600's to Spain to the seaport Cadiz and then many went to Argentina.
