Classification: Query
Surnames: BOLTZ, BOLTS
Hello,
I am looking for information about the following family who appear on an 1871 US Census taken in Ohio, Portage Township in the County of Wood.
Father: John H BOLTZ – age 51 - from PA
Mother: Sarah – age 46 - from PA
Children:
Catherine – age 27
William – age 22
John – age 13
Angeline – age 11
Clara – age 10
Emma – age 9
Elmer – age 7
This family also shows up in the 1860 Census in Findlay, Hancock, Ohio but the name is spelled BOLTS and there are some other/alternate names for the children:
Jerimiah – age 12
Mary A – age 14
Elizabeth – age 9
Sarah – age 8
My Great Grandfather’s name was Elmer BOLTZ and I have been trying to locate his family. We show him being born around 1861 which would fit with this family give/take a few years. He married and resided in Terre Haute, Indiana and died there in 1902. His wife’s name was Elizabeth and they had six children: Harry A, Charles Lee, Virgil Franklin, Guy F, Nellie and Pearl.
Does anyone have this family in their tree and if so could you let me know if the Elmer in this family might possibly be my G Grandfather?
Thanks.
