Hello,
I posted on this list some years ago, and have done nothing since then due to illness. BUT! I am back and still looking for my great-grandmother Alma Mary Elizabeth BOND. She gave her address as St Judes, Islington, when she married Tom ROBINSON, 1874 in Mexborough. Her father was George BOND, and his occupation given was that of Soldier.
My late father told me that he and his siblings used to get parcels from Ireland, presumabably from the family of Alma, who was b in Ireland, ABT 1853,every Census and her marriage certificate gave a different age [as she was older than Tom ROBINSON I guess]. The parcels came from a Mrs Linden or Lindon. I have no idea where George BOND was born. I am assuming that he must have been at the battle of Alma, which where my G'GM got her name I guess.
Has anyone come across this family, or might be able to steer me in the right direction to find them.
Thanks so much
