ACCORDING TO AN EXTENSIVE GENEOLOGY CONDUCTED BY THE FAMILY, RICHARD BOND WAS THE SECOND SON OF OUR FAMILY IN ENGLAND WHO, BEING THE SECOND SON, AUTOMATICALLY DIDN'T INHERIT AND IMMIGRATED TO THE U.S. TO MAKE HIS FORTUNE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT HE HAD A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF LAND HOLDINGS AND WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN POLITICS DURING THAT TIME. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TRACE MY GREAT GRANDFATHER TEN TIMES REMOVED BACK TO ENGLAnd, 1604, HIS NAME BEING SIR CHARLES BOND, HE WAS KNIGHTED AND MADE LORD MAYOR OF LONDON FOR HIS EFFORTS DURING THE CRUSADES AND ALSO HAD A STREET IN DOWNTON LONDON NAMED FOR HIM, WHICH IS BOND STREET. THERE IS ALSO A BOND COUNTY, ILLINOIS, WHICH IS NAMED FOR ONE OF HIS DECENDENTS AND ANOTHER GREAT GRANDFATHER OF MINE AS HE WAS GOVEROR OF ILLINOIS SOMETIME DURING THE REVOLUTION. ANYWAY, I WILL HAVE TO PULL THE GENEOLOGY OUT IN ORDER TO GIVE YOU A MORE DETAILED ACCOUNT AND RIGHT NOW IT IS AT MY DAD'S HOUSE, BUT I WILL RETRIEVE IT AND PROVIDE MORE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. LET ME KNOW AND IF YOU COULD PROVIDE WHAT YOU HAVE, THAT WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS, LESLIE BOND
