I have a 1989 letter from Edna Bond Ripley (dec'd) of Ironton, MO which includes this statement "The Carr's and Bonds joined in Maryland in the early days of our country, they moved down into Virginia and spread out from there westward into Ohio, etc." I would like clarification as to which Carr branch she was referring to. After a long letter writing campaign I was told her records are now with a relative, Beverly Cothran in 1993 but was unable to reach her to access them.

But, I believe my gg grandmother, "Pie's" mother, was Essie/Effie Bond Speller! They were all from Bertie, NC. I am investigating my family any information would be appreciated. The Bond and Speller family is prevalent in Bertie County, NC from the 1700's and I think before. Orginally from England. As Bertie Co was under the Crown rule.
Thank you,
Terrance Johnson

Sorry, I ran the names and dates through my tree and I have nothing at this time. I have 2 separate Bond families both originally coming from England. One is by marriage on my mother's side primarily through Watertown, Massachusetts, and then my direct ancestors on my dad's side of the family through Minnesota, Harrison West Virginia, Cecil Maryland. I work on my Ancestry tree every day and once every 2 or 3 months I update the family tree on Rootsweb. Periodically, you can check my Rootsweb tree if you like, maybe there will be a connection. ___ http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=bond_jens... ______

Feel free to contact me if you like, maybe I can be of some help. ____

Gene Bond ___ genobondo.com __ genobondo@yahoo.com
David,

Hi. I have a fairly large family tree, and there are 2 separate Bond lines in my tree. If I'm not mistaken, this Bond line is not a direct connection to me but via a marriage. I am not sure until I trace it to find out how I am linked. My immediate Bond line goes back to Erth, Cornwall, England. Some family say through the Somerset Bond's but I believe and have made a connection directly to the Erth, Cornwall Bond's. I know the original family from here branched out into 4 different areas of England including Somerset, in the 1500's, but there was one branch that came directly out of Cornwall and immigrated to America. I know that with genealogy there are a lot of if's and sometimes can only speculate. Might take a couple of days, but will try to find the connection to this Bond line. If you give me an email address, can invite you as a guest on my Ancestry tree. It is the most current one, although I try to update the Rootsweb one every 3 months or so. Here is the link to the Rootsweb tree for now http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=bond_jens...
but can do the other as well.

I do have that book you mentioned, although I haven't been able to study it real well as yet. I did notice that it says Vol 2 on it but haven't found a Vol 1. Could be that Vol 2 was a revised updated version of Vol 1.

Will try to figure out my connection to this line and get back to you. Feel free to contact me through my regular email genobondo@yahoo.com. This email address is also on the Rootsweb tree if you lose it.

Will keep in touch, Gene Bond genobondo.com

May not be the same family unless one of us has information that is a little off. I have a William Bond born Sept 8 1625 in St Edmunds, Suffolk, England married to Sarah Briscoe. This William born England died in Watertown, Massachusetts December 14, 1695 and one of his sons born in Watertown also named William. This son all I have is birthdate of December 1, 1650. I don't have his wife of any children information. There are quite a few siblings however. If you think this family is the one, I think my updated tree on Rootsweb.com has all the information. My main tree on Ancestry.com has all the info if the other is missing. The tree name is Bond Jensen Greene Bushaw Family Tree to 500 BC. If I can be of help let me know.

Gene Bond
genobondo.com
tree manager and home person of above family tree

BOND, Alfred Ernest (b C1872) m Jessie Ann BEATON lived Bruce County, then Wentworth Cty in Ontario

Alfred Ernest BOND married my great grand aunt, Jessie Ann BEATON (daughter of James BEATON and Sarah Ann BATTEN McLEAN BEATON) on 2 May 1898 in Kincardine, Ontario, Canada. Witnesses were my great grandparents Archibald McLEAN (Jessie's half brother) and Bertha SPARKS McLEAN. Alfred was born C 1872 to Silas and Julia BOND in England - probably London. Alfred and Jessie had two children of their own, and raised Jessie's niece, Jessie Eveline KIRK (later known as Evelyn BOND, daughter of Isabella McLEAN KIRK and John KIRK (Isabella was Archie's sister, and died right after Jessie Eveline was born 25 April 1897)). Alice Bond BOND was born 25 Aug 1898 in Bruce County, Ontario. Earnest Randolph BOND was born 20 April 1900 in Bruce Cty, Ontario. Sometime after the 1911 census, but before 9 April 1918, when James BEATON died, the family moved from Kincardine to Hamilton, Wentworth Cty, Ontario. I believe both Evelyn (Jessie Eveline) and Alice remained unmarried given their names in the cemetery listings (Woodland Cemetery Flamborough East) - they are still listed as surnamed BOND. Earnest, however, appears to have married Helen I. Perhaps they had children? I'm looking for descendants, or anyone who knows these people. I have pictures of what may be Earnest, Alice, Eveline, and Jessie. I'm hoping someone can confirm that.

Contact me at genesaplenty at gmail dot com.

Hello,
I am having trouble with my Bond line & I am hoping you can shed some light ? My line as far as I have found is Charles Bond m. Minerva Davis, John Bond,b. 1787, d.1881 m. Rececca Hensley I am told there is a sjkipped generation and then Henry Marlin Bondb. 1842, d.1907 m. Suzannah Preece

Charles Bond is supposed to have been born in England & also had brothers that came over here. I cannot find any thing before Charles & John & I am not sure if the generation is skipped or he had Henry late in life. Any info that might get me in the right direction is appreciated.

Thanks Sharon

Reading some of your posts and then going on you links, you and I are on the same tree before it split. I have a booklet that was published in 1972 and authored by Lorene Bond Prewitt, that I think you would like to read/have. She researched it by going to these places. They traveled a lot and that is what she did while her husband worked. If you are interested I can pdf the book to you. I do have her permission to give it out. Lavania Bond Cook
